The funny thing is that with each release, the Spice Circle fans seem to be warming up to this release more and more  they dont even complain much anymore as the demos have proven to be quite a hit with everyone, and they find different ways to engage with the songs they already knew. So the strategy is working eheh :P

Couple of notes on the track:

- Mel C, Emma and Vic jumping on the rap to back up 'bold and on so strong' and 'on and on' like they did on the live versions of the song, is so classic SPICE GIRLS and it warmed my heart!! They should have kept that!

- Plus the added bongo-drums straight after the rap - PERFECT! Should have been left there.

- They all sound heavenly, probably better even than the final release. The chorus is more uneven but it also works somehow. Emma's vocals are just bloody heaven arent they?!

This version of Love Thing is AMAZING, apparently there are fans out there who had this version (and kept if for themselves  ) and the 7''version of "Love Thang" is also out there and different than was on the Spice demo tape which most of us heard.
Seeing as there’s not many surprises left in terms of unheard material on the deluxe album, I’m going to wait for the Oct 29 release to hear Love Thing
Also BRING THAT BEAT BACK
Also BRING THAT BEAT BACK

Oh YES I forgot :yahoo: a Spice classic!!!

I like how you can see elements of the demos that didn't make the final version but they used for the live versions like bring the beat back.

A nice radio edit of it is needed though to be commercial.

I hope they release a lyric video, I was enjoying the little clip of a lyric video on the social media.

There were rumours of a Love Thing lyric video. Would be amazing to have lyric videos for all the album tracks, actually!

Do we have *any* intel on how pre-sales are doing?

They have re-stocked the 2CD and the individual vinyls, though the bundles are all labelled as 'sold out' now.

Huh? The cd and baby and Ginger vinyls are still sold out on the official store/recordstore.

There are 39 sporty, 40 Posh, 139 Scary vinyls left of Universals stock (spice store, recordstore, sound of vinyl). Baby and Ginger sold out weeks ago. I was told the official store had 1k of each.

The zoetrope vinyl has plenty of stock everywhere as that's the main version I think they will push in HMV etc.

The cassettes had really good stock on the official store this time as they aren't selling them elsewhere.

Love Thing joined NGUOTGT as the singles that never were.

I’m in love with this version. Such a BOP!

A great version! I really want to hear the other versions from that original demo tape.

Sugababes' debut album re-release came out today. Just a reminder that across their 3 disc version, they've included 29 bonus tracks... which certainly puts the Spice 25 effort in the shade, for me. Sugababes 3 CD is £16, whereas Spice Girls 2 CD is £29.99. Oh Spice Girls... how you give us the bare minimum and take our cash.

Let’s not forget Sugababes debut album was a flop and Spice wasn’t x

^ In addition, the SugaRbabes album is re-released independently. Independent labels tend to be more generous when it comes to re-releases.

Sugababes were signed to London records for their debut album, and that is the label responsible for getting this re-release out, so I'm not sure what you mean by independently?

Back in the day London Records was under Warner Music Group. Nowadays it is an independent label.

I see! Although I still feel like, against most artists, whether on an independent label or not, that Spice 25 is a real scraping of the barrel and not giving as much as they feasibly could have done. And I've never noticed other anniversary style releases be so selective that they even decide to exclude half the B Sides!

I think the girls have a lot of power and say over their discography hence why we don’t get lots.

I do respect them for negotiating control back in the day though. For us fans it’s better when the record company has full control though.

Besides the fact it wasn't a flop (underperformed maybe, but flop? It sold over 200K in the UK alone), it also has nothing to do with the re-release and amount of effort you put into it. You would expect the Spice Girls, who will get a lot more attention, to really put the effort into it this time around.

This is my surprised face: :moira:

Are we surprised? :cheer:
