Calvin/Grennan song is probably one of those dance tracks that reach its #8 peak on its 17th week on chart, on a sunny week.

Ooh that's a much better showing for Wolf Alice on Spotify! Although 'Smile' curiously only their 4th highest song while it's still their highest by miles on Apple (now top 100 there too, up to #92, with 'The Beach' their next highest at #183). Hopefully they should be well on track to at least get 'Smile' in the overall top 100 this week if not any of the others that are currently ahead on Spotify. Happy to see 'The Last Man On Earth' at least back in the top 200 (didn't remember if it got there on its original release, quickly searched and it did indeed manage one day at #117 so not quite a new peak for it today) - I hadn't thought about its tracklist placement not exactly helping it out chartwise, guess it does make sense for that song to be later on the album though.

 

That Roddy Ricch track is gonna flop in the UK and massively underperform in the US too.

The highest song (at #66) 'How Can I Make It OK?' is stunning. I echo Bray's Apple sentiments though as I wish 'The Last Man On Earth' was higher up in the pecking order on Spotify too (only the sixth highest) although I suppose it is pretty low down on the track list.

'How Can I Make It OK?' was put out as a promo single a day before the album so no surprise it was the one on NMF. The other two songs that are ahead of 'Smile' on Spotify are just the first 2 songs on the tracklist so that makes sense I guess, just seems weird that 'Smile' is overperforming so much on Apple relatively (to the point it is actually higher on Apple than Spotify despite their album overall doing far better on Spotify). I guess it must have some kind of notable playlisting support there.

A few new Spotify peaks today: Heartbreak Anthem (#16), Confetti (#32), possibly Didn't Know (#27) and Noizu up to #50.

 

Lost Cause down to #18, most other new ones down just a few places.

I wouldn't say it was 'as expected' to debut as high as #3 in the US - his previous biggest hit 'DÁKITI' only debuted at #22! (In fairness that was on the day the 'positions' album came out but still would only have been #9 even excluding those album tracks).

 

The UK ignoring it of course is completely expected.
