Side to Side is a bop but I would definitely put some of the others that have already gone out above it (Sometimes & Bad Decisions especially)

8. MOONLIGHT

AVERAGE SCORE: 8.13

INTO YOU: dannjohn (11), jsweetxe, Dangerous Julian, Slick (10)

BAD DECISIONS: 152chris (5), gog_lad84 (6)

The song that was originally meant to be the title track before it was changed to Dangerous Woman is the next to drop out at #8. This is the opening track to the album and is one of Ariana’s favourites of her own releases, inspiring the titles of two of her fragrances (Moonlight & Sweet Like Candy). The title originates from the affectionate name her ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez gave her after their first kiss.

Moonlight becomes the second song so far to receive an 11 with dannjohn choosing it as the standout song on the album and jsweetxe, Dangerous Julian and Slick also loving it with 10s. It also becomes the second song I’ve written about in a row that hasn’t received any scores less than 5 with 152chris providing this lowest score and gog_lad84 being the only other person to go as low as 6. The large majority lot of the scores were 7s, 8s and 9s.

If my boyfriend allowed me to be a little bit cheesy, this would be our soppy Wedding first song but that ain't ever gonna happen I'm afraid.
'Moonlight' is stunning and a great opener! I think 8th is about right
Imagine a single run

Dangerous Woman

Into You

Side To Side

Greedy

Be Alright

Touch It (In a pretend World where she actually likes the song.)

:cheeseblock:

This would have been an incredible run (although 'Touch It' isn't needed), but 'Greedy' & 'Be Alright' would have been great, the former could have easily been another top 10 hit & 'Be Alright' a possible top 20, it already charted in several countries & performed far better than 'Everyday' everywhere anyway.

This run would have rivalled the 'My Everything' era which also had an incredible set of singles (Problem, Break Free, Love Me Harder, One More Time).

I do wish Bad Decisions could have done a bit better. Still my favourite Ari album track. The bridge

'Moonlight' is a really nice opener but it wasn't quite as big of a standout as a song as I remembered it being from the first time I listened to the album (I had it ranked in my top 5 of the album back then and iirc it ended up with only like my ~10th highest score in this rate!)
Let Me Love You really was robbed there, deserved top ten over any of those three although they're still pretty good. Also KB/FB really needs to leave next, it shouldn't be this high.

Also agreed that 'Let Me Love You' was robbed! It's a real highlight for me, really sensual with some enrapturing beats.

'Side To Side's position would be shocking but I'm aware it gets a lot of hate these days, I still love it though.

'Moonlight' is gorgeous.

7. KNEW BETTER / FOREVER BOY

AVERAGE SCORE: 8.26

INTO YOU: blacksquare, JackTheeStallion, 152chris, Cremey, HausofArgento, dannjohn (10), LewisGT (9.5)

BAD DECISIONS: coi (5.5), George.keh (6)

coi gets his wish as 'Knew Better / Forever Boy' is the next song to depart the countdown. I don't know about you guys but I was surprised by how high this finished! I suppose its biggest fans aren't quite as loud as those who love the likes of 'Greedy' or 'Touch It'. But it quietly took that 7th place thanks to an onslaught of 10s from loyal supporters.

This song was originally intended to be two separate tracks. However, Ari couldn't choose between them when working on her album so made the decision to combine the two. This was a genius move as the subject matter effortlessly glides from a break-up (widely speculated to be about Big Sean) to the happy relationship she was in at the time. The lyrics are very personal and touch on comments that Ariana gets from the public, such as: "Never been with a boy more than six months, I couldn't do it, got too used to it" - with her latest engagement she was very quick to get "will it last??" comments even five years after this song. These words are backed by an intriguing blend of R&B and deep house influences. 'Knew Better / Forever Boy' of course features a very smooth interlude transition between the two. That has to be my favourite moment of the entire song. Ariana has stated in the past that 'Knew Better' is her favourite of the two. There's an extended version of it out there called 'Knew Better Part Two' due to high demand from fans. 'Knew Better / Forever Boy' was originally the penultimate track on the album before the additions of 'Step On Up' and 'Jason's Song (Gave It Away)' recently, helping us to wind down ahead of the closer 'Thinking Bout You'. What a blissful 1-2 punch. It comes in at 4:59 so is the longest song on the record.

'Knew Better / Forever Boy' locked in an average of 8.26 to achieve 7th place thanks to its legion of stans. Not everyone loves it quite so much though, with coi marking it a little above average and George adding on a further half point to that. Just six songs left now with the two singles and four album tracks fighting it out for the crown.

Good  I certainly am surprised it finished that high, it's OK but on an album of this quality it feels like nothing more than a filler (especially when it's between two of the biggest highlights in Touch It and Thinking Bout You) and it's in my bottom three. Anyway we now have a somewhat predictable but great top six! :cheer: Looking forward to finding out the order.

I am surprised as well, it's not Top 10 for me!

Knew Better / Forever Boy is cute but not a favourite of mine. I'm also shocked it finished this high!
