The Greenwoord stuff makes sense, I understand the whole "innocent until proven guilty" but he's already guilty through fans and the media. Not sure there is a way back for him in the short term. Players are looking out for their brands. The article makes a lot of sweeping statements though and gossip, as most social media accounsta re controlled by an agency rather than the players themselves.

I don't think Ronaldo is finished, he was the top goalscorer in Serie A last season and scored 36 goals in total in all competitions. You don't just turn into a shit player overnight, he's playing with inferior teammates compared to Juventus & Real Madrid and certainly compared to his original run at Man United. It was the great players that he previously played alongside that brought the best out of him and managers who also helped bring the best out of him. Having someone like Harry Maguire as captain sums up our level at the moment, if players like Giggs, Scholes, Rooney, Tevez, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra were 14 years younger and in our team now you would see Ronaldo banging in the goals even at 37 years old. The only positive to take from today is that it's 1 game less left to play this season. Also anyone that thinks Man City have a chance of throwing the title away is deluded, might as well engrave their name on the trophy now.

Ronaldo is clearly not a terrible player, but he is finished at the top. He can't play in any functioning team anymore. There's a reason Juventus took such a massice loss on him and he's regarded as one of the worst transfers of all time in Serie A. He will always score goals as he is an amazing finisher, but he clearly is not a player that can function in a team anymore unless he has 10 players doing all the work for him. I still think City will win the league as it is a huge ask for Liverpool, but if City are going to drop any points it will be in the coming weeks. They were always going to spank Norwich.
February 13, 20223 yr I don’t think Rooney was suggesting CR7 isn’t a good player but he’s not what United need now and at 37 he is a luxury signing that detriments the rest of the team. It was kind of United going back to the 2013-18 transfer style buying established but finished players that have huge wages but don’t offer much.

He's not the only issue I agree, but he is one of a few issues. The madness in all of this is that 4th place is well and truly wide open. Arsenal are probbaly favourites again now (just).
February 13, 20223 yr The way we're going we probably wont get 4th place as whenever we have the chance to consolidate that position we always mess it up which is exactly what happened in the 2018/19 season when we had numerous chances to be 4th but constantly blew it. Even if we do get 4th place this season has still been a failure and getting 4th can't be anything to be happy about when we finished 3rd and then 2nd consecutively in the past two seasons. The only thing that can save our season is winning the Champions League and there's no way that we're going to do that. The poor results around October/November have done the most damage and we've never really recovered since then.
