I don’t think Wales should be too disheartened by today’s result. I think the Eriksen incident has made everyone forget that Denmark have become one of the best sides in Europe in the 3 years since the World Cup. Only Belgium managed to beat them in between the tournaments. They were a top seed for WC qualifying and they’ve battered everyone in that group so far. They’re just a much better team than Wales and today was made even harder for them with the lack of a crowd and the sense of togetherness Eriksen has brought out in the Danish side.

I’ve seen the highlights now and I’m still struggling to see how that’s a red. I’m literally sat here going through it frame by frame for like 5 minutes before I finally saw the contact. Never a red

There wasn't even any evidence of a VAR check.

But we could have a 3 min VAR check for the 4th goal?! It wouldn’t change anything but I would have thought that was the kind of atrocious decision that VAR was supposed to overturn.

Unless VAR agreed with it 🥴

Overall, VAR has worked reasonably well in this tournament but the apparent lack of a check for the red card and then, as you say, a lengthy check for a goal of no real consequence was all rather odd.

Yeh in real time it didn’t look a red but I thought he must have kicked out at him from behind but he didn’t just fouled him, ridiculous decision, hope the overturn it after the game.

Denmark though looking good - the next game for them vs the Dutch or Czechs will be interesting - could be a way to the semis for them!
