Didn’t realise that the Young Bous played at the ‘Wankdorf’ stadium 😂, so many jokes!

It's an unacceptable result but the red card really f***ed us. I'd have been happy to escape out of there with a point and the defence was largely brilliant. One slack backpass from Lingard shouldn't overshadow EVERYTHING but it is a really annoying outcome.

Your problem is Ole, his Champions League record is awful. 7 defeats out of 11 games is not good for a major coach. He's already apologising to Ronaldo for subbing him

Definitely some kind of mental block in Europe too. How can you explain breaking the record for undefeated away games domestically but losing like 5 away matches in Europe during that run. It's kinda like Pep at City but obviously on a much worse scale!

And yet the one we win is a knock out vs PSG to come back from 2-0 down to go on to qual via a last min pen.

Saying this, it’s not as if Fergie had a bulletproof European record. We’ve exited at the group stage to a group we should have smashed and walked out with 15 points many times before. It’s the United UCL way 🤣😭

Ole copies Fergie's tactics so there's no real surprise there. Totally agree the red card didn't help, but United were hardly a threat before that looking at the stats. You can put it down to one game and not to read too much in to it, but it's certainly a pattern.

Think it’s big games for me irrespective of European or not, keeps me hoping they will mess up the league in the same way like when they were top in January.

They will be fine in the league, they had good attacking firepower before Ronaldo and now they are better. Problem is the argument being used is the "oh, but Ferguson signed Van Persie and that won them the title". They will smash the rubbish teams, but currently to win the League you're needing about 90 points. I just see no way under Ole they get there without an obscene amount of luck, he is not good enough.

United fans seem to be coming round to the fact that Wan Bissaka is absolutely useless too, be interesting to see if Dalot gets a run in the side at all this year.

I like Wan Bissaka the thing with him is he is a right back who is better at defending than going forward.
Wan-Bissaka is not useless at all. One of the best tacklers in the league. Not top top tier in terms of right backs but certainly not a position I'm worried about. Whereas I would be extremely worried if it was Dalot playing there week in week out.
I am not concerned about W-B at all. Think the red was well soft but he has proven himself to be a solid addition many times. If we were picking problem positions at United I'd start with a CDM not at RB.

Brugge beating RB Leipzig in Germany tonight and Sherriff beating Madrid in Spain two of the big shocks tonight!

Sherriff winning at Real Madrid is an absolute mad result!

Sheriff's win @ Bernabeu really blew my mind.

I'm actually not that surprised, it's one of those guaranteed big shocks you get every year in this comp. Also Madrid aren't this scary bulldozing proposition anymore and don't forget Sheriff won their first match too so are very much there on merit!

What also won't be a shock is Villareal beating us tonight :hithead:

I hope not, I don't want the Ole Out chants to start ringing out this early in the season!

I just watched highlights of Porto Vs Liverpool on YouTube, Porto's goalkeeper was terrible and the 4th Liverpool goal in particular was laughable. Great result for Sherriff beating Real Madrid and especially as it was in the Bernabéu. That was some goal as well by Messi against Man City.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been given a two-match ban by Uefa for his sending off during Manchester United's Champions League defeat to Young Boys.

The defender, 23, was shown a straight red card for a late tackle in the first half of the match on 14 September.

He will now miss Wednesday's game against Villarreal and the home match with Atalanta on 20 October.

Did you see the second one too? He was having a mare lol, he actually made some decent saves too to keep the score down!
