i love how little mix fans are saying how reliant she is on collabs when literally their strategy to get a hit is to throw another artist on the song  I think there's a run from 'Touch' up to 'Break Up Song' where they didn't have a solo single? So I'm not sure how one can justify saying anne-marie can't have a solo hit, when arguably, neither could Little Mix?
Most of the remixes you're referring to are post album releases and (unfortunately) that seemed to be the thing to do to get a post album hit... but tbf to LM their biggest/most popular hits are solo hits... SOTME, BM, Touch, Sweet Melody.

I don’t get what the big deal is with collabs anyway? They usually help widen a fanbase or get those all important streams in, especially for pop artists I think it’s great when they work together!

A mix of collabs and Solo stuff keeps the interest there. Little Mix are probably going down the Collab route at the moment to stay relevant and in the charts whilst they’re unable to perform / can take time off while the featured artists helps get that promo etc...

I’m loving all these releases though as a fan it really does feel like they’re unstoppable at the moment!

i'm not knocking Little Mix, i'm just saying it's a bit strange to criticise Anne-Marie for doing collabs to "get hits" when Little Mix's strategy is the exact same?
I don’t see anything wrong with collabs. Also this is very different for Little Mix as it’s their first ‘feature’ with another pop artist. So I’m very intrigued with how the song will sound and how they’ll split up the vocals. Will it be half Anne-Marie half Little Mix or will all four have equal lines.

I don't think anyone criticised her for doing collabs. I only complained that it would be nice to see Little Mix have a collab with someone on their level of star quality/popularity.

They've had 12 (14 if 'Strip' and 'Touch' are included) singles that featured someone else out of 29.

Strip certainly wasn't a single. And Touch the main version is what was used as a single here/anywhere where it was a hit.

Ksi saved anne marie tbf anything he touches is a smash and anne marie is so heavily reliant now on having features that it makes glory days campaign look tame

I mean, if we're going to be pedantic about it -

Anne-Marie hasn't had a SOLO hit since 2018. There's a reason she's been attached to so many popular artists since then and why she needs a Little Mix collab to launch her album. Just a top ten hit featuring on someone else's track doesn't mean that you have a fanbase. Charlie was the same situation - his two number 1's were features. Nathan Dawe and Cheat Codes as relatively unknown dance DJ's with a couple of top 40's under their belt managing to nab Little Mix for a single is definitely helping them out more than the girls. Saweetie's top 20 hit in the US is irrelevant to the UK.

I'm not saying these artists are unknown but there's quite clearly a difference between one of the biggest acts in Britain and these artists.

Context matters though. It’s clear that Little Mix’s features have been either because they wanted to collab (Jason, MGK, Sharaya, Nicki, Stormzy, Anne-Marie) or their label wanted a post album single that needed something new to it (Saweetie, Missy, Kid Ink) Little Mix have never had to have a collab to revive their career because they were floundering.

Anne-Marie’s label obviously needs her to have a hit for the album, so latching her onto someone like KSI who is somewhat new and popular or a legacy act like Little Mix who are huge/popular/well respect/have a wider reach etc is the new norm for artists who haven’t been able to find their footing. Regardless of what you think of Anne-Marie there’s no doubt her popularity has dropped and she can’t really get a proper hit without help anymore.

To be fair I think I'm being unreasonably harsh on Anne-Marie because I feel like Little Mix should have got that Ariana collab fans have been begging for years.

23rd July according to the OC! Slated as the fourth single to be released the same day as the album - her label would be smart to release the video too.
Has there been any idea what the video is like? I saw a photo of the four girls outside laughing against a wall or something?

that's an old pic from a festival, I doubt there'll be much to the actual video after a cancelled shoot and with 2/3 of the girls being heavily pregnant

When they serve choreo whilst pregnant >>>>>

Nah but the best we can hope for is a SOTME style video that brings attention bc they’ll be pregnant as well.

(Although some light choreo would benefit them a lot 🌚🌚)

I'm gonna try to not judge this until I hear it as Anne-Marie is on an unprecedented run of actually decent to good singles at the moment (since 'Come Over') but honestly everything I have heard about this stinks of something that's going to be horrendously tacky oops

Maybe Ariana is focusing on acts currently on her level. LM collab with Ariana will do nothing for Ariana, but loads for little mix.

Not sure why there is so much pessimism about this single 🤔.

I am a little mix fan, and I am just excited about the fact there is new music coming soon. That's all that matters to me. This song can do well - it's not even out yet. The success of a song isn't always dependent on who is featured. "Unpopular" artistes (and features of course (have had top 5s and number 1s out of nowhere! So I will wait to hear it!
