Great track uhsting, I knew this song anyway. I actually first discovered it way before in 2005 in the form of the minor hit Lil Love - Little Love which was essentially a remix of it.

Liaisons D see their big lead reduced to just 3 points as The Beloved receive 22 points from the last 2 votes. The pack are now well behind. Is this a two horse race now? There's a big move for Durutti Column with 19 points moving them up from 7th to 4th.

Good entry from Colm there, as the entries have been revealed I thought for a while it might have been danG who sent Oochy Koochy...

The Durutti Column are a Manchester group who are still going after 43 years. This is from their second album, 'LC'.

Thank you Colm!

I felt immediately prejudiced to not take a song called 'Oochy Koochy' seriously but it turned out to be surprisingly good.

edit: lovely entry from Dan as well, another one of my faves.

Very surprised at it being danG who sent that, very good entry though. Also I had assumed Durutti Column were Italian.

It's still tight at the top with just 2 points between Liaisons D and The Beloved. Rupa is back into the top 3 while 12 points for Stacey Q moves her up two places to 18th and leaves Tones On Tail well adrift now.

This is a very good track Jupiter. Certainly better than the rather cheesy 'Frankie' from 1985 which was their biggest hit.

Me still coming to be one of the biggest fans of Jade's song despite not voting for it? :kink: (It certainly does not deserve to be last so I hope it has at least somewhat of a bump from the last few votes)

Liaisons D to win and then I can pretend it's a moral win for myself x

This reached number 18 in 1979 and was also one of 26 number 1 singles in France for Sheila, most of them as a solo singer. It was produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards from Chic.

Here are my votes. Good contest overall.

12 - Stacey Q

10 - Clio

8 - Tones on Tail

7 - Wood Allen

6 - Sister Sledge

5 - Afrika Bambaataa

4 - Liaisons D

3 - The Beloved

2 - Samurai Sam

1 - Arthur Baker

Thanks,

RFC

Casually tripling Jade's score there!

I didn't realise there was such a well known and quite obvious sample that used Spacer. I heard it for the first time last year and properly LOVED it. I knew it was a hit and might border on veto worthy but I checked the YouTube and Spotify figures and how often Nile plays it live and figured it's probably not that well known.
