There is more pop cover version of "Saturday Night" from Sindy.

This single was #1 in my chart, which is much better result than Whigfield had.

Oh really liked Breakfast at Tiffanys back then

Its almost too catchy 😅

To be honest I thought there would have been a lot more people voting for The Joker. :(

It's incredible how Levi's adverts were popular in the 90s. :P

I'll always be amazed that Breakfast At Tiffany's is a UK #1! Would've loved to be following the charts back when that happened.

I am a little surprised that B*Witched had not one, but two songs higher than C'est La Vie.

How come you like this version so much more? It sounds very similar to my ears

The Joker is fab but it's a 1974 hit for me I dont see it as a 90's hit, cos 1974's when I first charted it oops!

The early 90's remaining tracks are either pretty much quality or Mariah Carey (I mean, really? Without You? The warbling karaoke version of a 70's masterpiece?) :teresa: Now if Fantasy or the Xmas song had topped the chart, absolutely vote for it!

Earth Song sold a million. That means a million people rated it amongst the 100 greatest records of all-time up to 1995. That it is also a Jarvis-Cocker-inspired polarising track has never convinced me that the fab Jarvis is right and I'm wrong about it, and it belongs in any list of the top 100 of the 90's, despite Jackson's egotistical Messiah-complex. The powerful message to stop effing up the planet will continue to be relevant for the forseeable future. Black and White also has a good message, and is fun, and should have been in the final 100.

The late 90's have a lot of cheese in amongst the great stuff, and as I hinted before I think it's reflecting the median age range of Buzzjack - I also love catchy cheese from when I was a kid

A lot of my votes still holding on but 'Saturday Night' came close! It was a lot of fun hearing it live at 'We Love The 90s' (back in 2019, still my last concert until February!)

amazed at the love for Saturday Night, must be a nostalgic thing

personally I find it one of the silliest songs ever, up there with Macarena and songs like that :D it's songs you do the dance to when drunk at a wedding, not one of the best songs of the 90s lol :D

I don't understand the logic here.

It was one of the 100 biggest-selling records of all-time, meaning at least a million people felt strongly enough about it to go out and buy it - which is quite a big fanbase given Jackson wasn't selling albums like he used to in 1995. It's the same for, say, YMCA , Evergreen or other big-sellers of their time - a large number of people might have got fed up with hearing them but their fans didn't just die overnight and go away, they prob just aren't on Buzzjack for the most part

2 more greats going too early, Mark Morrison and especially Simply Red are fab records. The original version of Dont Let The Sun.. is better, much as I love George & Elton and the cause.

dabadadumdidididadidadada...

...is my one word justification for giving those points to Saturday Night (and also my first Buzzjack post outside the Chart Forum!)

Enjoying the countdown, not too many losses yet

Saturday Night is great, not a lyrical masterpiece but a perfect slice of nostalgia for all those primary school discos.

Glad Return Of The Mack made it into the Top 100. Fairground by Simply Red is a nice track as well, i’m indifferent to most of their stuff tbh but always liked this one.
