The Doctor first met Amelia Pond when she was a kid, crash-landing the TARDIS in her aunt's garden. Despite promising he'd be right back, the Doctor didn't see Amy until she was an adult, and in that time, she'd become obsessed with the Raggedy Doctor that once visited her. Amy helps the Doctor save the world from the Atraxi but soon enough, he takes off again, returning two more years down the line. Amy leaves to travel with the Doctor on the night before her wedding, and they experience the past and the future together, but Amy's feelings become conflicted. The Doctor rejects her advances and scoops Rory up, reminding Amy why she loves him with a date in Venice (hijacked by vampires, casual x). Despite some bumps along the way (including Rory dying about 50 times and being erased from existence), Amy and Rory departed together, stranded in New York in the past and living their lives out together, without the Doctor.
