Ed Sheeran aims to replace himself at #1 with new single Shivers. Likely new entries include Central Cee's Obsessed With You and Mimi Webb's 24/5, plus there's tracks from Lana Del Rey, Chlöe, Glass Animals, Digga D, LISA and Troye Sivan

A familiar battle in the album chart with Manic Street Preachers' The Ultra Vivid Lament and Steps' What The Future Holds - Pt 2 contending for #1 - if they can get past Drake of course. Kacey Musgraves' fifth album Star-Crossed and The Vaccines' Back In Love City are among the new releases, plus albums from Low, Amyl & The Sniffers, Saint Etienne, The Stranglers, Baby Keem, Sleigh Bells and Nessa Barrett

Breakdown of the week

- Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative.

- Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm. Please do not post spoilers on the forum in advance as this ruins the countdown for any listeners.

- Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm

- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.

- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.

- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)

- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).

- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.

- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. Any chart requests between No. 41 to 100 will not be answered after Monday's update.

- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

Steps apparently 3.5k behind the Manics already
Steps apparently 3.5k behind the Manics already

Already ffs! There goes #1 AGAIN then 😭

I think Ed has #1 in the bag with Shivers. His closest competition is gonna be Drake but with Ed’s huge download and physical sales he should get it with ease I reckon.

Of the Manics' 13 albums, only one of them has ever reached #1 (the brilliant 'This Is My Truth') with a further five of them reaching #2 so I wouldn't be surprised if they end up unlucky again!

What did the last Vaccines album open with? This one seems to be their best received for ages so maybe it can outpeak their previous album which got to #4?

Steps are truly masters of the #2 single and #2 album, aren't they?

They'd be competing with the Manics here too

Steps have had five #2 singles and three #2 albums, and Manic Street Preachers have had four #2 singles and five #2 albums!

The Vaccines opened with 11.3k last time.

Of the #2 studio album in the last few years for sure!!

Then again #2 is amazing so :w00t:

surely there's a fairly high likelihood it'll be #3 behind Drake

Do they have any airplay though!?

Steps apparently 3.5k behind the Manics already

In fairness to them they have done everything they can with this release (low priced bundles, 6 HMV signings in 2 days etc.,), they have once again picked an awful week to release though!

Hopefully the signings give them a bit of a boost!
