So elated for Wholune to finish top five, I switched it from my 15 to 18 at the last second and those three points clearly helped them into the top five :cheer: Fantastic discovery and I need to check out more from Greta Van Fleet. Nice to see a top ten comeback for Altyr too, assuming they won that tiebreak. Thanks so much for brilliant hosting Ben, amazing tension! This marks our first time giving top marks to Trifoski since Amnesia Scanner in BJSC 91 and the third time in all, also including BJSC 71's Yeasayer. Hendinia don't make our votes too often these days but recently when they do they make it count, as this is their first points from us since Rico Nasty also got 15 points from us exactly a year ago. Cumulonimbia on the other hand are increasingly a staple of our medal positions in recent months with this being their third in the last 4 contests following the 18 for Daniel Bortz in BJSC 135 and Lanark Artefax last month - Rare Facture the floppy outlier with a mere 6 points received. Rounding out the top 5, N DNTN with their subtly infectious jam pick up 12 points while the much less subtle but just as addictive AQ from Kluminican Republic gets 11 points - let's let this be their long awaited winner? x Eternal resident in our votes Jadakissnia receive our 10 points with a tasteful earworm eurodance throwback (a better showing than Pharao for us, who only got 5 points). The other auto-qualifier from incumbent winners Aesthetica also grabs a decent tally of 9 points, this somehow didn't make our votes in Club Bizarre before but we see the error of our ways now and hopefully others will follow suit to deliver it a better result than the second from last it got there. The Pom-Poms in BJSC 109 were the only previous Aesthetica entry to get more points from us. Aeroche and Flynnonda were near inseparable in sound and in quality so appropriately appear next to each other in our votes with the former winning out to get 8 points while the latter gets 7. Aeroche's last higher scoring entry for us was 10 pointer Sidewalks And Skeletons in BJSC 129, while Flynnonda's only higher scoring entry for us goes all the way back to Tame Impala also getting 10 points in BJSC 76 (this is the third time we have given them 7 points since then). In a strong month for Asian entries, Aesthetica are joined in our votes by Greenfroze serving a rare actually unique K-Pop entry which picks up 5 points from us, Greenfroze's first points from us since our 3 points to Aöme in BJSC 126 (and their highest points from us since giving 8 points to Little Green Cars the month before that). That was my 18, what a banger and pleased to see Altyr and Cumulonimbia in the top 10 as well. I was already telling Rich I'd be near the bottom ever since I qualified so I'm not surprised at all at being 41st lol. Shame it didn't get more love regardless of its position though. October 7, 20213 yr Great winner, congrats Jade! As Rich said, it was a complete revelation to find out that it wasn’t a Cascada original! Thanks to those who voted for Eivor, especially pleased to see it being very well received amongst the early voters, and I’m very happy with a top 20 placing for our 50th and final entry. It was great to rejoin the contest while being furloughed, and if we go into lockdown again then I’ll probably be back, but I’m finding it hard to take in each contest fully now so this feels like a good natural conclusion for our nation. So elated for Wholune to finish top five, I switched it from my 15 to 18 at the last second and those three points clearly helped them into the top five :cheer: Fantastic discovery and I need to check out more from Greta Van Fleet. Nice to see a top ten comeback for Altyr too, assuming they won that tiebreak.I switched my 18 to Wholune last-minute too! (And cost myself a top-5 finish by doing so :lol:)
October 8, 20213 yr Final scoreboard is verified now btw, though with Oslol dropping down to 39th place / 98 points post deduction. (The ties are already broken in Ben's final scoreboard post but for posterity Altyr/Bhangra was 26 votes to 22, FSR/Séyetana was 21 votes each and 1 18 to 0, Klum Rep/Persephonia was 19 votes to 17 - curses be upon Klum x - and Thelonia/Bellamia was 20 votes to 17). The jury votes came through to deliver a really strong top 3 in the end, all three got at least 7 points from me! Fantastic to see both Flynnonda and Cumulonimbia ending up with their first ever medal position finishes :heart: both very overdue! And very proud to welcome Jadakissnia into the 2 wins club alongside myself, though I expect they have a much better chance than me of ever breaking into the 3 wins club. Beyond that top 3 the rest of the top 10 still isn't up to much for me though with the exception of Hendinia, fab to see COBRAH indeed ending up with another top 10. St. Burbia continuing their very impressive run of late, I didn't think this one sounded as much like a big hit as their last two but clearly I was wrong! Happy to see a few more of my faves sneaking into the low top 20 at least, particularly N DNTN after them being disturbingly near the bottom for far too long. Looking forward to (hopefully) another Jadakissnia host in some capacity even if circumstances may be once again preventing a fully Jadakissnia hosted contest (one day!) Oh and also thank you to our last few voters from the jury of course - Savan and Lee for the mealworms, Suede and Whoddy for double figure points and most of all Jacob for providing our only 18 :wub: always nice to receive at least one x 5 medal positions in all, happy enough with that! I am running out of time to secure a top 10 hit for 2021 though eek (not that I expected this to be one of course!)
