October 15, 20215 yr Really pleased for Sam to finally have a top 40 hit to his name. Seemed ludicrous he hadn't had one until now! I thought 'Get You Down' would be the one to do it.
October 15, 20215 yr 23 | 21 | 8th week Ed Sheeran Visiting Hours Instant grat from = Released: 19th August 2021 Label: Asylum Records UK Chart Statistics NE (02/09/2021) | 5-17-22-19-21-22-21-23 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 02 Sales 10 Audio Streaming 03 Video Streaming Video t3CoEyYEf4A Biography There’s a lovely moment a little ways into Apple Music’s Songwriter documentary about Ed Sheeran in which Sheeran, jet-lagged and carrying a cup of tea, straggles out into a yard in Malibu at dawn, sits down at his laptop and begins writing a song about the moment right in front of him: the crisp air, the birdsong, the hot tea, the day ahead. He gets a full verse in, melody and all, then pauses. “Songs are weird things,” he says. “How so?” an interviewer asks. “They just come and go,” Sheeran says, smiling. “And they never give you any warning.” For Sheeran, they seem to come pretty reliably. Born in 1991 in Halifax, England, he started out gigging on the UK pub circuit before releasing his first studio album, +, in 2011, and has since become one of the most unstoppable singer-songwriters in music, forging a light blend of folk, pop, hip-hop and dance that feels slick but lived-in, intimate but universal. Whether on his own (“Sing”, “The A Team”, “Shape of You”, “Perfect”) or in collaboration with artists from Taylor Swift to Eminem to Justin Bieber, Sheeran has a unique ability to strike a chord that feels both bittersweet and redemptive, good-natured and genuine: the hopeless romantic who convinces you he might just be right. In 2017, he was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, touching Prince Charles on the arm while shaking his hand—a breach of royal protocol, and an appealingly human one at that. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2011 03 The A Team -1- MILLION SELLER 2011 35 Hush Little Baby (Wretch 32 feat. October 15, 20215 yr 22 | 20 | 29th week Lil Nas X MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) 1st single from MONTERO Released: 26th March 2021 Label: Columbia Records Chart Statistics NE (08/04/2021) | 1-1-1-1-1-2-2-4-6-15-19-19-19-19-22-30-28-30-33-34-37-41-50-60-63-16-21-20-22 Sales: 900k+ Certification: Platinum Status: Standard Chart Ratio 08 Sales 01 Audio Streaming 01 Video Streaming Video 6swmTBVI83k Biography The way Lil Nas X tells it, it sounds simple, almost mystical. “I was just kinda bored,” he told Apple Music. “I wanted to put something up. So that’s what I did.” Not only did the “it” in question—“Old Town Road”—become a global phenomenon (and 2019 Apple Music Award winner for Song of the Year), it prompted surprisingly pertinent conversations about how we define and classify music. Was it country? Was it rap? Cowboy anthem or LGBTQ camp? TikTok novelty or legitimate pop song? It was, of course, all those things, and pity those who couldn’t live with the contradictions. Born Montero Lamar Hill in 1999, Nas grew up outside Atlanta but came of age on the internet, turning to social media and meme-making out of boredom and teenage loneliness—feelings compounded by his struggle to resolve his sexuality. (He later became the first artist to come out while his record was at No. 1, though he’d figured that between the rhinestones and rainbows and the general vibe, it would’ve been obvious.) “I didn’t know it was gonna do what it did,” he said of “Old Town Road” and its companion EP, 7. “But it did what it did.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2019 01 Old Town Road -1- MILLIONAIRE 2019 21 Panini -2- 2019 55 Rodeo (Lil Nas X & Cardi B) -AT- 2020 23 HOLIDAY -NAS- 2021 01 MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) -1- 2021 42 SUN GOES DOWN -PS- 2021 03 INDUSTRY BABY (Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow) -2- 2021 10 THAT'S WHAT I WANT -3- 2 x #1 | 3 x Top 5 | 4 x Top 10 | 4 x Top 20 | 6 x Top 40 | 8 x Top 100 Social Media Lil Nas X http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

October 15, 20215 yr 21 | 18 | 6th week Drake featuring Travis Scott Fair Trade Album track from Certified Lover Boy Released: 3rd September 2021 Label: OVO Chart Statistics NE (16/09/2021) | 3-6-12-15-18-21 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 33 Sales 03 Audio Streaming 17 Video Streaming Video THVbtGqEO1o Biography A couple of years after he broke into the mainstream with 2009’s So Far Gone, Drake was browsing art in Los Angeles when a piece caught his eye: a big neon sign that read, “LESS DRAKE, MORE TUPAC.” For a minute, he felt angry, embarrassed—he wanted to walk up and rip the sign off the wall. Instead, he bought it. After all, he figured, you get someone hanging your name next to Tupac’s, even if it’s only to take a shot at it? You must be doing something right. Born Aubrey Drake Graham in Toronto in 1986, Drake became—like Tupac—something of a generational voice, a prism for his pop-cultural moment. Was he an R&B singer who rapped or a rapper who sang? Was he really that sad, or just doing a bit? And if it wasn’t a bit, how could this guy—talented, intuitive, hardworking—really be so down? From minute one, there was something a little different about him: He could be confessional, vulnerable, but also incredibly coarse; he could make an earnest commitment one minute (“Take Care”) and be drunk-dialing the next (“Marvins Room”); he could convince you he was an underdog from his perch on top of the world (“Started from the Bottom”). Critics—and he’s had plenty—like to point out that he started as an actor: He played Jimmy Brooks in the Canadian teen show Degrassi: The Next Generation. But most of all, he felt like a person—someone who isn’t canceled by his paradoxes, but defined by them. Though the feelings remain (always feelings, big feelings), the sound—for the most part, courtesy of longtime affiliate Noah “40” Shebib—is always changing: a little dancehall here (“One Dance”), a little house there (“Passionfruit”), some old New Orleans bounce (“Nice for What”), a bit of Wu-style boom-bap (“Started from the Bottom”), some smooth, to-the-minute trap-soul (“Hotline Bling”). Like Kanye, Drake is as much a curator as he is a creator, an artist capable of arranging collaborators from a universe of styles and making them all fit into his personal vision—an approach that has made him one of the most definitive rappers and pop figures of his era. “I obviously spend a lot of time in my own world,” he told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe in 2016. “But when I do take a look at the broader scope of things, it’s often [in the studio]… Even though I don’t directly, literally address things in my music, I’ve always tried to make music that transcends gender, nationality—to try and unify people. Because that’s really what it’s about.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Drake 2009 42 Forever (feat. Digga D first emerged as part of West London crew 1011 before releasing a string of solo singles in 2017, including "Kill Confirmed," "Play for the Pagans," "No Hook," and "Next Up." The Metropolitan police launched a campaign to remove all of his videos in 2018, after they amassed significant views. This backfired, as Digga D fans re-uploaded them in multiple locations, leading to the police issuing a CBO (criminal behavior order) to the artist; this required him to screen all of his releases through the authorities, where they would not permit anything that incited violence against individuals or even certain areas of London. Singles that went through this process include "No Porkies," "Mad About Bars," and "Who?" Digga D was in and out of prison multiple times from 2017 to 2019; he was incarcerated during the release of his debut mixtape, Double Tap Diaries, in 2019. - Apple Music ArrDee Brighton born and raised ArrDee has exploded onto the scene with his unique flow; venting the real relatable issues wrapped up in his signature “cheeky chappy” sound.
