Massive shame first round weekend its not next weekend, the boring wretched international break

It would be a great opportunity for the FA Cup but I suspect there would be too many League 1 and 2 clubs with players on international duty for the lower ranked countries :(

There were breaks for the two world wars, the hundredth edition of the competition did not take place until 1980-81.

No way ITV can inflict Plymouth and Sheff Wed on us again after that lunchtime snoozefest today.

Did ITV4 show the draw after their match last night? If not, why was it made so late?

Yes they showed the draw after their match on Monday night. Bit of a strange time to have it..

Bolton have been beaten by a non-league side in the FA Cup for the first time in 110 years.

Stockport County stunned League One Bolton Wanderers in a thrilling FA Cup first-round replay that saw eight goals, a pitch invasion, a lost shirt and a missing corner flag.

The National League side had trailed 2-0 and 3-1 before Scott Quigley gave them hope and then Ashley Palmer, who earlier scored an own goal, headed in with five minutes left to take it to extra time.

Quigley's smart, lofted finish at a packed Edgeley Park then put the home side ahead before substitute Ollie Crankshaw added a fifth at the death to spark wild celebrations.
