SEMI 2

QUALIFIER #13:

Summericia: Eisenfunk - Pong

DNQ

The Actual Republic of Bellamia: JayXander - Too Late

Summericia are through with their cybergoth rave entry!

to be played with the Thomas The Tank Engine theme in the background

Unfortunately the guitar entry love-fest in this semi doesn't quite extend to The Actual Republic of Bellamia. Well... at least 17 points is better than 5, a bit of a jump now x

Not looking promising :( I was thinking a bit of YUNGBULD at the time of entering it.

My semi 2 predictions are already worse than my semi 1 ones, Summericia the third qualifier I predicted out :cheeseblock: (I am happy to be wrong on that front though, this was a bit of a banger, I just thought it might have been a little bit too... Buzzjack Mountain to qualify xx)

TARO Bellamia's song was kinda cute but yeah also sounded like a bit of a no-hoper oops.

Hooray most of the good ones through from semi 2 so far x

I gave Trifoski 80% of its points whoops  It didn't strike me as that much of a wooden spoon, glad I wasn't the only one at least x

QUALIFIER #14:

Séyetana: Mori Calliope - end of a life

DNQ

Suedeonia: Wire - Eardrum Buzz

27th • 24 points

I'm sure Séyetana will be delighted to know that they've officially made Mori Calliope a thing on BuzzJack now!

Elsewhere the rock bloc and retro bloc take a double hit as Suedeonia's throwback pick from 1989 couldn't quite make it. The points are continuing to jump at least - now in the 20s.

'end of a life' was a massive improvement from the other Mori entries, still not something I'm gonna bump on the regular but I'm happy Iz is finding more appreciation for his niche waifus interests xx

Shame to see Suedeonia out :( ranked that 7th in the semi, first of my semi 2 top 10 to go out. Definitely doesn't sound like it's as old as 1989!

waiting to go to bed and fingers crossed October Sky hasn't just missed out! You never know with a ballad if people will take it or leave it.

QUALIFIER #15:

Danæviia: Reba McEntire - Fancy (Dave Audé Remix)

DNQ

Kluminican Republic: Yebba - October Sky

26th • 25 points

Better news now for throwback entries as Danæviia tried something new with a fusion of both country and dance and it paid off!

I was really quite shocked by the performance of Yebba - can exclusively reveal that it was on 0 points until the 16th voter  well, that is far too mean for an entry that respected the current month of the contest. In more positive news - those fans who came through at the end included a big one in Jupiterdonia, who gave them a silver medal.

Aww no at Yebba!! :'( well that's easily the best song to be out so far oops (4th in the semi for me).

QUALIFIER #16:

D'yermak'er: Max Styler - Fools Paradise

DNQ

Tartford: Scarlet Fantastic - Make Way For Love

25th • 28 points

D'yermak'er are next in with some tech house!

Scarlet Fantastic are sort-of a loss for the retro bloc, in the sense that they first found fame in the 80s, but this is actually a bang up to date song for them. Maybe the title 'Make Way For Love' is a good omen for whatever they decide to follow up this entry with...

Surprised Tartford did that poorly, I thought it was kind of fun (albeit very dated, I could easily believe it was just a song from the 80s lol)

QUALIFIER #17:

Beaverdonia: Bad Gyal - Fiebre

DNQ

Singerpurear: Harpo - Moviestar

24th • 29 points

Yet another successful comeback is staged this month as Beaverdonia advance to the final :cheer: looking forward to the #BeaverDecides final PM.

I think Singerpurear were the most retro of them all this month with 'Moviestar' dating back to the 70s. Unfortunately not even the power of Frida from ABBA on backing vocals could send this one through. On the bright side, it did get a full 12 points from Tartford.

Beaverdoniaism vanquished :cheeseblock: (this was a great entry from them!)
