One I owned on cassette many moons ago. Got to #14 in 1999.

Other singles are I Quit (#8, 1999) and Deep Deep Down (#16, 2000)

Shakaya actually had a hit in Australia with Stop Calling Me, but they quickly faded with subsequent releases:

Ooooh I didn’t think to mention this. It was a number one on my personal chart!

From Austrian Eurovision pre-selection 2002.

I:levenless7 - SMS 4 Love

What a very early-00s title SMS 4 Love is.

2002 was a bit of a weak Eurovision year and when I check the national finals for that year, a lot of good stuff was thrown out that would have performed better than what was sent by many countries.

Here are a few from early in the decade that came to mind when opening this thread (I never saw it before);

DREAM - He Loves You Not [uK #17 hit in 2001]

Girl Thing - Girls On Top [uK #25 hit in 2000]

Fe-M@il - Flee Fly Flo [uK #46 hit in 2000]

Made In London - Dirty Water [uK #15 hit in 2000]

Tymes 4 - Bodyrock [uK #23 hit in 2001]

Wow I never truly realised there were just so many different girl groups that managed to break into the charts at the time! :o

Girls@Play - Airhead (2001) (UK # 18)

Just checked this out last week on some soap star music playlist. Rita Simons old girl group. Quite the bop tbh.

"Airhead" was # 1 in my chart.

Real Blondes - I Won't Let Go (2000) (# 39 in Australia)

Switch - Hush (2001) (# 3 in Ireland)

Which NFs you heard ?

4 Elements - Remember (Latvia - NF 2002)

Shakaya was a good shout. I bought their first three singles.

Also didn’t realise Dirty Water wasn’t original when Bardot included it in their debut album.

I listen to 'Losing A Friend' and 'Closer' by Nylon quite a bit (not regularly but more than most) I loved those two singles.

They definitely deserved more success here but they definitely chose the wrong singles! Then Emilia leaving didn’t help!

Heard this at a night I went to on Saturday, one I'd completely forgotten existed and has been a bit of a rediscovery for me!
