Despite saying that last year would be their final Christmas #1 attempt... the tabloids are reporting that LadBaby shall return this year for another one! With fellow Christmas #1 rivals Ed Sheeran & Elton John set to appear in their video.

I believe that (if this gets to #1), it will give them the outright record for most Christmas #1s?

I’m torn on what I want to happen on this one.

I don’t mind Ed but I know how desperate he is about chart stats so it would be amusing to see him miss out on another Christmas #1 after he seemingly planned it so perfectly

LadBaby is all a bit of fun and for charity so for it to be a one week #1 I really don’t mind.

He'd be joint with the Beatles who also have four, but he would have the consecutive record for him only, only legends :cheeseblock:

I'm unsure how he'll fare against Ed Sheeran, he's known for his dirty chart tactics, but still....*.*

Ed is indeed known for that but being up against something what’s for charity he may decide against it.

Could be close however as Ed’s streams will be big but LadBaby pulls in the sales.

If Ed doesn’t get actual Christmas #1 he’s likely to be #1 the week after though I’d guess?

There's sadly no universe in which LadBaby don't just get a 4th Xmas #1 for free. The only question about this year's Xmas #1 was whether they would release one or not.

Genuinely preferred the era of the Xmas #1 just being the X Factor winner every year. Where is Rage Against The Sausage Roll xx

I’m sick and tired of LadBaby. I wish someone would just wave a magic wand and make him disappear.
It's so predictably I would totally be up for a Rage Against The Sausage Roll !!!

The problem is though, it wouldn't be great press for someone to go against a charity campaign.

Also the general public have less interest in the Xmas No.1 than they did in 2009, and LadBaby are generally well liked too, I don’t think there’d be many people getting behind an anti-movement to stop them with a charity song. They will have the Xmas No.1 until either they decide to stop or the joke wears thin on people.

At least it keeps Xmas No.1 in the headlines anyway, musically Rockabye is one of my favourite Xmas No.1s ever but there was no sensation to a long in the tooth song being at the top by default on pretty low sales (for Xmas week). If anything LadBaby has made it continue to be a thing in the streaming era.

Unless it is also for charity xx

Even then, I doubt it would be deliberately targeting LadBaby like the RATM fans did with The X Factor.

dull karaoke covers performed by nobodies vs. fun hilarious charitable covers performed by legends? I know which one I'd rather have...

ofc the release isn't officially confirmed yet but please please PLEASE let it happen! LadBaby are the last thing keeping the Christmas chart race from being irrelevant, more people ought to be grateful for that :smoke:

I’m all for a Ladbaby Christmas no.1 again. At least they’re fun. I love that family and think they’re amazing.
This was entirely predictable. Theybwere smirking their way through that intwrview on how they waned to take on Ed and Addle.

Yay for another 1-84-OUT "lol we changed the lyrics to be about sausage rolls again" #1.

As for something running directly against it, I agree I could see the Kunts doing something like that but I doubt they would have the same level of success they did last year.

Tbh to say it is always held up as the most important chart of the year, between the decade of X Factor winners and the obvious runaway charidee single every other year, nine times out of ten the Christmas #1 seems to be one of the most predictable rather than one of the most interesting.
