I am SHOCKED, was just watching the livestream and very surprised. At the same time, and I am saying this as a huge fan who has loved her ever since Just Dance, I am not too upset. Not just because of the fact that the five nominated women are all excellent and deserving of the nomination, but mostly because for me the whole promo campaign has been one big cringe moment. It was all way too much, the strange stories, getting more and more over the top whilst that's not what campaiging or acting should be about. I am only saying this out of love for GaGa, so please don't all jump on me, but the last few weeks have very tiring.
Yeah it's not the end of the world! It has been tiring following this (more tiring than following her journeys towards music recognition) so I'm ready to move on from it all :kink:

I agree that her campaign was too extensive but then again, I'm pretty sure only us Little Monsters watched all of her interviews. Her Kimmel appearance was super sweet, not really forcing anything at all.
I don't think her campaigning was the problem — she campaigned like a pro. The issue was likely the film itself working against her.

Hm, I am not too sure about that. Both Spencer and Tammy Faye got similar (or worse) reviews than HoG and a lot less box office success, yet both Chastain and Stewart are in. And whilst HoG didn't get glowing reviews, everyone pointed out she was the highlight and star. I think it was quite a hard and competitive year in general and I am sure GaGa was number 6 on the list, just behind the five that did get in. Nothing to be ashamed about and she still gave us a wonderful performance.

Spencer got good reviews IIRC, Being the Ricardos didn't but Kidman won Golden Globe so she was bound to get a nom here too.

Spencer had similar reviews to HoG, where Kristen was mostly called the stand-out but the film in general didn't generate that many good reviews (which surprised me, as I think it's very good). Neither did the Ricardos indeed.

I'm quite shocked but it's okay, I'm sure this won't phase her and I'm excited for what's next acting-wise. I hope Jessica or Nicole take the award!
