I do wish they hadn't kept denying it. They could have vetoed the question in their interviews

Did they though? Everything I've seen is them dodging the hiatus question and saying they'll be little mix forever even if they're doing other things. They never said flat out they weren't taking a break.

It's not a real shock but I hope it's not like a 10 year hiatus and maybe only 2 years as I genuinely think Little Mix have plenty of fuel left in the tank as a group.
Move will be their legacy for me, a truly brilliant song that I'll still play in years to come. Think it is very hopeful to think they will be back in 2 or 3 years, one of them will no doubt get solo success or just feel they are happier not doing Little Mix when they get a taste away from it. Spice Girls and One Direction that they are more comparable to were 6 and a half years and One Direction still haven't reunited.

The only way they won't come back is if one of them has close to Harry Styles levels of success...which sorry girls but I can't see it.

Also 1D have some strained relations, I can't see Harry wanting to reunite with the other 3. Whereas LM are strong as a unit.

I can’t see them having solo success, maybe the first couple of singles but Little Mix as a brand is what sells.

Hopefully they do reunite after 2/3 years, I’m pretty confident because as a trio they are so strong.

Solo success doesn't have to mean in the charts. There is a reason Rihanna and VB cant be bothered with music anymore. They are smart girls I'm sure they will look for avenues away from music, movies, fashion, beauty, presenting.
I'm sure they will, but as a group, they're massively lucrative in a way that I doubt will be hard to top elsewhere, so I'm sure they'll want that arena touring money again after not too long.
I think it's worth to remember that being in a group and committing to it means you'll have to work around each other's schedules - I can certainly see a situation where they start making money individually and realising that it's much easier to juggle their private life and professional lives without committing to the group. Like it or not, each album cycle means they'll have to commit to it at least 2 years or so.
It's funny, like some others have said, I'm not as sad about this as I thought I'd be. I think part of it was seeing them at Leigh's premiere the other night - there's no way you can fake the kind of friendship they showed on the red carpet. I truly think they'll maintain their friendship & actually reform soonish. I think they'll all have some success musically & in other avenues, & then we'll see them back together as Little Mix in 3-5 years (with appearances at each other's events & the like in the meantime). Can't wait to see what they do going forward!

Its for the best really. Better to leave on a relevant high than to dwindle into nothing.

Like others have stated its just sad Jesy had to leave so soon before this happened. Their ending was most definitely tainted and didn't need to be.

Part of me feels sad for Jesy now. In an ideal, perfect world, she could have stayed, enjoyed the 10 years success and taken her break.

But obvs we know there were other reasons behind her leaving.

This so much tbh.

I think the intention is certainly there to come back, but whether they do once they get a taste of solo success within different avenues will be interesting to see, sadly I am doubtful... I can see music from them but not all (if any) will succeed and then they will branch out. Can certainly see potential Radio / TV presenters and work in other avenues it will be interesting to see whether they still want to return or whether individual commitments impact. Also Leigh and Perri both being mothers are less likely to want to commit to months away on the road touring, whether they also get pregnant again in a couple of years could impact.

I hope they do, they are a fantastic band. I do feel a little sad that I don't think they will in the short term more likely in the long term like 10 years on to celebrate 20 years or something... in which case it is really sad Jesy couldn't hold on and finish it off as I think there was always the intention to release Confetti then a GH and take a break.

Yeah, if Jesy watches Norton tonight, I assume it'll be hard for her
I can't imagine any of them having particularly successful solo music careers, but I do think Jade will serve some almighty bops.

I kinda think if one or multiple of them get the budget they might do alright.

Let's not forget they are all great singers with model looks and decent industry connections. Plenty ex-girlbanders before them didn't have at least one of those e.g. Cheryl, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell.

Jade has the best shot due to not being 30 yet imo. Not my opinion, just the public/papers being fickle about ages.

I can definitely see them all getting at least one or two hits, even if as a feature. But I can't see them turning it into the touring/album selling force that would emulate anywhere near the success of Little Mix. I think they'll mostly do well, and enjoy the break. But I just think Little Mix as a brand is so secure in the UK that they'll be able to go back to it with huge success. I assume they'll miss the arena tours.
I reckon Jade will get the most success. I can see some minor hits from her solo stuff and I can imagine her doing some collabs with the usual UK DJs. It would be good if she could release her first single in Q3/4 after the tour next year as i'm pretty sure she's closest to having music ready to go. The last thing I want is for them to be releasing solo stuff at the same time and for them to be compared, they each deserve their own moment.

They can still be friends, love and support one another, but never actually come back together. Trio Destiny Child seems like genuine friends/sisters, but that come-back has not happened till date. I know Beyoncé is obviously huge and that could be a factor, like many have said already here - ie one of the girls becoming huge in their solo endeavours (not necessarily music).

So yeah I'm gonna try and enjoy what we have already, be very present at the tour (probably get more VIP tickets if available) and savour the memories. I hope and wish and pray they return.

i think the hiatus was always planned for after confetti tour, jesy basically said so in other interviews when she went solo

The argument of ageism needs to stop. Beyond feeding it as okay, it's not true. Beyond Sia to prove not taking youth/sex appeal to sell... Debbie Harry, JLo, Fergie, Gwen, etc. If time changing this (when if anything opposite): Rina, Lizzo (that impossible to ignore having more prejudice that could be held against her but doesnt), etc.

Then becomes argument of "unknown as individuals" as if not every artist at some point and if anything is a good thing as complete fresh start with benefits of 10 years in industry.

We know nothing about what will or wont make them success. That outside of quality of team can get when however much repeat "mistreated XYZ" under label means nothing when existing career provides leverage for good deal, and an exit clause if mistreat that new signs comparing to dont.
