Officially confirmed to be coming to the relaunch of BBC Three on their opening night in January!

Many of us knew this was coming but just incase you don't follow any of it as closely as us Drag Race-heads, renowned queens from different franchises and cultures (from Drag Race UK to the US to Holland etc) will compete in an international arena showcasing their country's finest drag in their bid to become the ultimate Drag Race Superstar.

Nine members of the RuPaul's Drag Race family will battle it out for the crown in the brand new series.

Who would you like to see on and what are you expecting from this new series?!

i do wish we could have waited a LITTLE longer and had some

uk2 /españa / aus queens

(assuming what i have heard is correct)

Yeah, no 2021 queens from my understanding. I think it was cast before any of the 2021 series had aired, just had to be delayed in filming cos of COVID.

I’m quite glad of it as I worry that leaving it longer would have meant queens like

Pangina and Janey

may not have been cast

Premieres 1st Feb when BBC3 comes back to TV!

Cast if anyone wants to know it, I'll spoiler anyway. I'm surprised they haven't revealed it with 3 weeks left to go, I wonder if it will be soon or will they leave it until the show airs maybe as a big gag or to get people to watch?

Baga Chipz (UK1)

Blu Hydrangea (UK1)

Cheryl Hole (UK1)

Janey Jacke (DRH1)

Jimbo (CAN1)

Jujubee (US2/AS1/AS5)

Lemon (CAN1)

Monique Heart (US10/AS4)

Pangina Heals (Drag Race Thailand host)

Maybe it will make sense in the show but I remain kinda pissed off that

Monique and Jujubee

are going to be part of the cast, given that

it's Juubee's 4th go - 5th if you count Queen of the Universe of 6th! if you count Drag U, and Monique's 3rd.

It's not like there weren't a whole host of potential fan faves to choose from.

Also booking such experienced queens as the US representation seems a bit unfair/stacked compared to e.g. the 5th placer from UK1

, when it could have been someone like

Heidi N Closet, Nina West or Crystal Methyd

if they really wanted fan faves only.

It kinda makes sense that

because it's season 1, they wanted some big fan faves to sell the show to US fans who maybe don't watch other seasons. I don't so much mind Monique being part of it as she was kinda robbed on AS4 and hasn't had another chance, but Jujubee has done All Stars twice and I think both times was treated fairly (I know AS1 was a mess for all involved). But equally if you think say we could see Ra'Jah, Ginger, Cracker, Detox or Shangela on this format, it seems like they will always occupy a finalist spot. Like there's queens from Holland, Canada, Thailand, Italy, Spain, Australia and the UK now, who as of now can't go on a "normal" All Stars (UK could definitely do one after UK4) but they then have to compete with people who already have been All Stars winner material, it's not necessarily a fair second chance. I think if you look at purely the cast and what they've done in prior seasons, it seems like nobody could really touch Monique here, I suppose it does always depend on what challenges are in a season though and if there's a glow-up - I mean who would have called Ra'Jah or TKB killing virtually every challenge in AS6?

I also forsee there might be favourtism towards queens Ru knows, plus potential language barriers if you think about improv, comedy and acting challenges, so it may just end up being a vehicle to crown more US queens.

I'm wondering what the future of this is too, whether it will be a one-off, a stopgap until they can do a proper UK All Stars (which I'd say they could easily do after UK4), a yearly thing with alternating hosts, or maybe something that goes now and again.

I don't think every franchise will do an All Stars in the same way as US does, this would be a good idea to be regular but I'd want less, if any, US queens in the future as we'll have even more queens from even more countries that should get a spot. To be fair with this, we didn't have Aus, Spain, Italy yet so to put US queens on to kick the series off with power is good but I could easily fill a cast without using them.

Clara Amfo, Daisy May Cooper, Michelle Keegan, Jade Thirlwall, Jonathan Bailey and Mel C are all guest judging, and Katie Price is the Snatch Game guest!!!
Why no queens past UK series 1??? Annoying, they could easily have done an all UK one rather than this UK vs the world rubbish

I believe it was all filmed a while ago & we're only getting it now.

I guess we'll be able to tell if they have screens or not!

Yeah, I think it was filmed around 1 year ago, right after S2 I think?

VERY happy with the Pricey, have been waiting for her to appear since S1 was announced. Also looking forward to see Mel, of course, and Clara. She is such a queen.

Yeah it was filmed just after, and no queen is going to go straight onto another season that’s so competitive.

Plus as much as people love to act like UK Drag Race is the be all and end all, I really can’t see enough queens out of just two seasons to make a worthy All Stars.

Johannes from Strictly also a guest!

I’m quite glad there’s just just the U.K. 1 queens as they’ve had a while to grow and will get their opportunity to shine!

Agreed, it usually doesn’t work out if a queen comes back right away - look at Veronica!! Aja is one of the very few who did so and made it work, the queens have just out everything into one season so it’s hard to come back without having that time to reflect and grow, use the opportunities the show gives you etc.

You have to also think of how much it costs to get all your outfits etc, queens will usually need time to work and get money so they can be even better for their second run. Of course not all queens do, some can make their own stuff but not everyone, it’s just not practical to come back in such quick succession for most queens for various reasons.
