Another poll like I did for the 'Tangled Up' album & now we're onto Girls Aloud 5th & final studio album Out of Control, released back in 2008 & spawned 3 fantastic singles 'The Promise', 'The Loving Kind' & 'Untouchable' - one of which topped the charts, another hit the top 10 & the final one became their first to miss the UK top 10, which seemed to seal the era's fate & the girls went on a lengthy hiatus shortly after.

The question is what would have been your choice for a potential 4th single? 'Love Is The Key' & 'Rolling Back The Rivers In Time' were considered at some point, but neither got released. I've also added another choice for none if u think the era was perfect as it was. So simply have fun & make your choice.

I've included the album in a spotify playlist below:

I don't think anything shouted single really, maybe Rolling back the rivers.

The 3 singles from this era were perfect, but went with 'Love Is Pain' which is one of the best tracks on this album & could have made a nice final single, but nothing beats the glorious 'Untouchable'

Maybe the Thriller Jill Mix of Love Is the Key could have been a good single?

I don’t feel like this album truly has major missed single opportunities though. I do love Rolling Back the Rivers in Time, Miss You Bow Wow & Revolution in the Head but I think it’s fine that they stayed as album highlights.

I don't think many songs screamed single on this album aside from the three they picked. Love is pain could possibly have worked as a fourth single but I think they would likely have missed the top 10 again their promotion of Untouchable was pretty poor can't see them doing big promotion for a 4th single... not that it mattered at that point I guess.
I think the singles run was perfect as it was and wouldn't have added a fourth single. While I like the album tracks a lot, nothing screams single to me and the three songs that were picked are amongst their strongest singles for me.

Love Is Pain leading surprises me, it's not a particular highlight from Out of Control for me! :o

Love is the Key felt like the obvious next single to me at the time!

I love 'Love is a Pain' but it's too much of a similar vibe to 'The Loving Kind' and 'Untouchable', plus it doesn't really feel like a single. I agree with consensus here that the same can be said for pretty much everything else on the album; 'Love is the Key' is the one that I could see as a 4th single and it does add that fun spark that was missing from the run of singles of the era. I don't see it as a huge missed opportunity though.

Love Is Pain for me would have been a great closer.

I do prefer some other songs such as RBTRIT, MYBW and Fix Me Up but can’t imagine them as singles

It wasnt a thing as much back then but the 4th single could have had a feature style remix, Little Mix had success doing that.
I really don’t like the “feel I could wipe you” lyric, so for that alone I’m glad it wasn’t a single x
I'm very, very glad they never did that.

Me to, in general im not a huge fan of just adding a name to a song unless it really changes or adds to the song, these days nearly every song in the charts has some form of feature and its boring, maybe back then it would have been different as it wasnt done as much but if they did it would probably have been someone like will.i.am which would more than likely have ruined the song for me.

Love is the Key.

I’d have preferred that over Untouchable which I find very overrated by the fan base.

I love The Promise and The Loving King though. They were the perfect first two singles.
