December 23, 20222 yr Nines' One Foot Out certified Gold today via BPI website. His second album to reach Gold after Crop Circle achieved the feat too. So ecstatic about this as it was my favourite album of his and mega looking forward to his final album ever which he will be releasing next year.

It certainly will next week. Total was 4,097,342 on 16th Dec, so its SCR sales this week must have been <102,658. Its ACR sales this week are 51,370. Wouldn't surprise me if the SCR sales were over 101,000 and maybe the overall total is just shy of 4,199,000! Hopefully it ends this Christmas season on 4.3m+!  Great to see Mariah's Hero go Gold. It went Silver on 27.10.2017, so it's taken 5 years & 2 months to sell another 200k. Not sure what its overall sales would be, because this 400k Gold certification doesn't include its sales pre-February 1994 (it was released in October 1993).

December 25, 20222 yr So maybe we could guess around 580,000+ in total? A shame that in terms of sales it could be approaching Platinum but that it won't get that for a long time to come because the sales it achieved while it was a hit in the charts aren't counted. :cry:

January 5, 20232 yr New Award The BPI – the voice of independent and major record labels across the UK – is proud to announce a major expansion of its BRIT Certified Awards scheme with BRIT Billion – a prestigious new award launching in 2023 that will celebrate and acknowledge outstanding achievement in recorded music by artists who surpass the landmark of One Billion career UK streams. This new award, which, like the existing BRIT Certified scheme and its iconic Platinum, Silver and Gold tiers, will be verified using Official Charts data, represents the first significant upgrade to the certifications programme since April 2018, when it was rebranded from the BPI Awards to the BRIT Certified Awards. Expected to launch officially in Spring 2023 – when the first wave of recipient artists will be announced – BRIT Billion will also mark 50 years of the BPI and the 50th anniversary of the certifications programme, which the BPI established in 1973. This will be the first time in its five-decade history that the certifications scheme officially recognises an artist’s combined success across multiple projects. The One Billion career total will include tracks an artist has appeared on either as the principal performer or as a featured artist, as credited by the Official Charts.
