January 14, 20224 yr Author  Missed the top 40 this week? Ella Henderson Brave 2nd single from Everything I Didn’t Say Released: 7th January 2022 Label: Major Toms / Asylum Records UK Video JTK1nC8ptkA Biography Bursting on to the scene in 2014, at just 18-years-old Ella Henderson went on to achieve global success with her debut single, ‘Ghost.’ Co-written with Ryan Tedder, the song became the fastest-selling debut single from any British Artist in 2014. That same year, Ella’s debut album, ‘Chapter One,’ (Salaam Remi, Babyface, Steve Mac, TMS) spawned her first Platinum selling album, making her one of only 3 UK artists to break Platinum in 2014. A revered artist, in 2015 Ella received two prestigious BRIT Award nominations for 'Best British Female' and 'Best British Single', rounding off the year with a landmark sell-out UK headline tour, which included two shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Following a whirlwind few years, Ella returned to the studio to being work on her next project. During the process she continued to collaborate with some of the biggest names in music, appearing on hits produced by superstar DJ’s Kygo and Sigma. She also returned to the live stage, touring with the likes of Take That, James Arthur and Rudimental, the latter of whom signed her to a new record deal with their label Major Toms/Asylum. For Ella, this marked a brand new start. “I want it to be fresh,” says the 23-year-old. “The industry's changed so drastically since I last released music over four years ago. I want to embrace that. I want to treat everything like it's a clean slate.” - Spotify Top 100 Chart History 2014 01 Ghost -1- MILLIONAIRE 2014 07 Glow -2- 2014 16 Yours -3- 2015 96 Mirror Man -4- 2015 04 Glitterball (Sigma feat. January 14, 20224 yr Author Missed the top 40 this week? Jonas Blue and Why Don't We Don't Wake Me Up Non-album single Released: 7th January 2022 Label: Positiva / EMI Video 1dn-WBYAbF4 Biography Jonas Blue A London-based DJ and producer who’s delivered a steady stream of hit tracks and remixes since the mid-2010s, Jonas Blue knows how to give a dance floor all the joy and energy it needs. Yet he leaves room for some wistful feelings out there in the dark, too. The best proof of that is his thrilling yet poignant revamp of Tracy Chapman’s folk-pop classic “Fast Car”, a collaboration with singer Dakota that became a worldwide hit in 2015. The club and radio favourite also propelled Blue—born Jonas James Robin in Chelmsford in 1989—into the top tier of the dance-music world. On hits like 2017’s “Mama” (with William Singe) and his 2018 debut album Blue, the busy producer developed a signature style of pop, tropical house and EDM that was reliably light and summery yet also contained the emotional undercurrents that made his update of “Fast Car” so surprising and special. They’re certainly present in “Younger”, a 2019 single full of nostalgic feelings for times long past. As Blue told Apple Music, exploring some of those deeper sentiments while giving them a positive spin is “what my music’s all about.” - Apple Music Why Don't We A boy band for the social-media generation, the vocal quintet Why Don’t We blend digital-age savvy with teen-idol sweetness. Members Jack Avery, Corbyn Besson, Zach Herron, Jonah Marais and Daniel Seavey were all teens when they began gaining fans through online posts and nationwide meet-and-greet tours. In 2016, manager Joe Lucero, founder of the tour Brave Fest, saw boy-band potential in the fivesome's already-robust fanbases and obvious talent, and Why Don’t We were born. The group’s first single, the sparkling “Taking You”, came out that October, and their debut EP, Only the Beginning, followed a month later. In January 2017, Why Don't We embarked on their first tour, headlining intimate venues across the continent, and they stayed busy for the rest of the year, releasing four EPs (including their first holiday release, A Why Don’t We Christmas), top-billing their second North American tour, and collaborating with fellow social-media sensation Logan Paul on two singles. Why Don’t We signed to Atlantic Records in 2018, during which they released their first full-length album, the harmony-rich, hook-heavy 8 Letters; a year later, they won Choice Music Group at the Teen Choice Awards. After a brief hiatus, in the autumn of 2020 Why Don't We announced their forthcoming second album, The Good Times and The Bad Ones—the first full-length to be written and co-produced by the five members, showing their growth not just as pop stars but as musicians. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Jonas Blue 2016 02 Fast Car (feat. January 14, 20224 yr Author 40 | | 1st week Gunna and Future featuring Young Thug pushin P Album track from DS4EVER Released: 7th January 2022 Label: Gunna Music Chart Statistics NE (20/01/2022) | 40 Sales: - Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio TBA Sales TBA Audio Streaming TBA Video Streaming Video -705T4FioZE Biography Gunna As a kid growing up just south of Atlanta, rapper Gunna, a.k.a. Sergio iamspamspamami (born 1993), used to practice what he and his friends called “six-month runs”: cut all extraneous spending for six months and save, save, save. The discipline and deferred gratification served him well: After spending his late teens and early twenties quietly exploring his style and releasing only one mixtape, Gunna broke big in 2016 with a feature on Young Thug’s “Floyd Mayweather”—a cosign that helped him bypass the hustle and made him one of the most sought-after new voices in the game. Later that year, Thug’s YSL label released the first of his multi-part Drip Season series, which synthesized his influences into an airy trap sound: smooth and mellow, blending spacious beats with a relaxed, highly melodic delivery and off-the-cuff humor. Between a couple more seasons of Drip and features with Travis Scott (“Yosemite”) and Metro Boomin (“Space Cadet”), Gunna also forged a productive collaboration with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, releasing Drip Harder in late 2018. The pairing was anointed GOAT status from a sometime GOAT himself, Future, with whom Gunna also featured on “Unicorn Purp.” Like Thug, Gunna has a thing for fashion; “drip” is his slang for personal style. “The salesmen that know me in Barneys say I smell like Biscotti mixed with Creed,” he raps on “Idk Why,” from his official 2019 debut album, Drip or Drown 2. - Apple Music Future There’s a good anecdote that Future recounted in an interview—about getting into an argument with a guy who was worried about one of the Atlanta rapper’s engineers. The engineer hadn’t left the studio in a week. Had he even eaten? Don’t worry, Future said—he himself hadn’t left in a week, either, and someone was bringing in Wendy’s from up the block. Barely a season goes by without new music from the rapper born Nayvadius Wilburn (in 1983)—whether it’s a mixtape, solo album, or collaborative project (with Drake, with Gucci Mane, with the producer Zaytoven). But prolific isn’t the half of it. Druggy, raw, slick, and surreal, Future’s sound—crystallized on highlights like 2014’s Honest, 2015’s DS2, and 2017’s HNDRXX—has helped redefine 2010s street rap as something strange and almost avant-garde: trap as modern psychedelia. Not that it isn’t melodic too. Like fellow Atlantan and collaborator Young Thug, Future has a way of bending his voice (often using Auto-Tune) into soulful, often sad shapes, half-rapped and half-sung—the sound of a crooner stuck in space. “The biggest thing is just being yourself all the time,” he told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe in early 2017. “When you try and be yourself all the time, everyone’s not gonna like it. But you gotta wake up with that person. At the end of the day, you can be able to look at the person and be like, You know what, I know I’m being myself; I’m not being anyone else. And that’s the greatest thing about this: It’s me being myself.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Gunna 2018 28 Drip Too Hard (Lil Baby & Gunna) -1- 2018 46 Never Recover (Lil Baby, Gunna & Drake) -AT- 2018 38 Broken Homes (The Plug presents Nafe Smallz, M Huncho & Gunna) 2019 52 Hot (Young Thug feat.
