January 17, 20224 yr 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' would be a fantastic no.1 - can't think of a song with so many distinct vocal harmonies with different melodies/lyrics making the charts as in the last minute of the track. That's relatively common in musical genre but very rare in pop music. Edited January 17, 20224 yr by Smint
January 17, 20224 yr Wasn't that a B-side? It certainly wasn't a significant factor in it reaching #1. I thought it was a double A-side with 'The Long And Winding Road'. I didn't know it was also used in Lilo & Stitch though!
January 17, 20224 yr Wasn't that a B-side? It certainly wasn't a significant factor in it reaching #1. It's on the UK version of film's soundtrack (played over the credits), and has clips from the film in the music video - so that's enough for me to consider it one! (and it also reads 'from Disney's Lilo & Stitch' on the single cover)
January 17, 20224 yr Let's just be glad it's not chart manipulator Cheesy Fad back with another processed cheese slice!! Or the follow up to Body Honestly the Bruno song is pretty infectious - found myself singing it in the shower this morning Edited January 17, 20224 yr by Chartfridays
January 17, 20224 yr Just checked the OCC website and they credited The Long and Winding Road/Suspicious Minds as a double A side so definitely counts and, as WhoOd said, the movie is mentioned in the single cover: https://www.discogs.com/release/632108-Will...2U6OTM3NTU4Ng==
January 17, 20224 yr “Bruno” is definitely growing on me. There’s a lot more depth to the song than I heard the first time. I’d be totally fine with it getting #1. Still prefer “Surface Pressure” though.

Still prefer “Surface Pressure” though. Surface pressure is the better of the 2 songs. But Bruno is pretty cool - wouldn't be mad seeing it at number 1.

January 17, 20224 yr Hoping Gayle holds on for this week, purely because I’m not a fan of one week no1s. Prefer songs to hold onto the top spot for a couple weeks. Albums will be interesting this week, very low sales so anything could happen there. But one week number 1's are a LOT less common now, look at last year for example from the 3rd week of January until the 4th week of October, no song was number 1 for less than 2 weeks. It's nice to have a little variety right now because we won't get it happen for the rest of the year. Plus the song is DELIGHTFUL

January 17, 20224 yr Author Nice to see Fickle Friends popping up at #48, they're kind of up against it given the zero radio play for their recent stuff (interesting that Radio 1 stops supporting them the moment they're off the major label....) Frank Ocean's Lost is at #72, is it too much to hope the OCC will see sense and reset it? (probably)
January 17, 20224 yr Surprised to see Bruno that far ahead, I thought it would be a LOT closer with Gayle’s second version putting her ahead on most platforms
January 17, 20224 yr "We Don't Talk About Bruno" for #1 *_* Its lead on spotify + being #1 on Amazon should be enough I hope. It closed the gap on Apple Music and the difference on iTunes between it and Gayle is very small. "We Don't Don't About Bruno" has a massive lead on youtube too.
January 17, 20224 yr oh my it's actually got enough of a lead to stick at #1 by Friday I think then. tbh it is actually an improvement over the alphabet song.
