I've been watching loads of old Neighbours clips lately, it's hard to believe it's all ending, but I'm excited for the episodes over the next 3 weeks.

This has been me over the last few weeks. The memories keep flooding back.

Ya flooding back for sure, the early stuff brings back so many great memories of my childhood.

I only started watching in the mid 90's then fully in the early 00's. So they're the ones I tend to gravitate towards watching.

I watched from more or less that start, stopped watching mid to late 90s but got back into it for the 25th anniversary and have stayed with it since.

The late 90s is what I first remember. Harold & Madge, Lou, Billy and Anne, Toadie, Lance and Amy and also the Scullys arriving.

i never got the sense australia was that bothered by Kylie

Ive never really felt that, like many people in the industry for so long she isnt as popular as she once was but she still does well in Australia. With Neighbours, the show isnt and never really was as popular in Australia as the UK but with Kylie i feel overall Australia has been very good to her.

I might be a little biased but Charlene and Scott really are the golden couple from the world of soapland.

How so?

i went to Australia in 2019/2020 and heard one Kylie song once (and was out in bars every night). It was 'Celebration' played at midnight on NYE.

Then again, i had to request Delta Goodrem.

Oh yeah, nevermind the numerous huge hits, albums and tours she's had over there (and still does to a reasonable degree), they were never interested in her because you didn't hear a song played in a bar.

I have visited Australia twice myself and in terms of hearing Kylie in a bar etc it was no different to anywhere else, i have often been in pubs in others countries and havnt heard Kylie and equally have heard her at other times, i dont think it reflects popularity as the pub your in may not play kylie and the 2 pubs next door could be playing her. I think its more than fair to say Kylie has had a very successful career in Australia and is a very well known name not to forget she has had 7 number 1 albums there and 10 number 1 singles.

Thanks for linking this! Believe it or not I'd never checked out much of Kylie on Neighbours. Before now I'd literally seen her introduction scene and clips of the wedding.

Scott seeing red when Charlene told him that she'd been with one other person before him... ugh! He deserved the smack he got from her in the next scene. I forgot how melodramatic Neighbours could be. A lot of the scenes are quite amusing!

Haven't watched it all yet but I'm enjoying it so far. Makes me feel nostalgic for a time that I wasn't even alive during :o

How times have changed though which these scenes reflect, Charlene and Scott moving in together before been married was a big part of the storyline where a storyline like in todays world would have people rolling their eyes, i think they did toy with the idea of Charlene getting pregnant before getting married but it didnt go ahead but i dont know how true that is,

Same for me, might give this video a watch too.

Can't say I've ever watched an episode of Neighbours but I'm thinking of watching these next two weeks anyway as it does feel sad to be losing something that was a big part of UK TV and culture. I'm also obviously eager to see Kylie and Jason's scenes.

Neighbours was full of so many classic memorable characters.
