I'm surprised Tropical didn't peak any higher on Spotify originally. I remember it peaked in the top 75 officially. Why's is so high now, people going back to the previous series of Top Boy?

 

I'm delighted it's still doing well anyway as it's been such a grower for me. Certainly some of the most interesting production of any recent popular UK drill songs.

I believe it is one of the most viewed UK drill songs ever on YouTube, that might have helped. Looks like its old Spotify peak was #78 so this is only a very small new peak. It's been back in the top 200 for a while so I don't think its revival is because of Top Boy but I guess it's possible that might have pushed it up a bit further from the lower half to the upper half.

Eh, it fits in well with the DNCE, Walk The Moon, Maroon 5 etc hits of that period!

I suppose so but it is a bit heavier guitar, like Charli XCX's Break The Rules (which I also really liked back then). Pity Charli has kind of disowned that song now because of the lyrics as it had great production.

On Spotify, the remix of BMW has surfaced at #192 - combined it's at #12 (or #13 as Go is #5 combined) which helps to explain its positions in the mids, Top 10 officially a strong possibility later then.

 

Amongst others, new peaks again for Tropical (up 11 at #64) and Wait A Minute! (up 15 at #86)

BMW having knocked George out of the Top 10 seems likely then sadly.
