I wasn’t expecting them to challenge for number one or anything but yikes at just how much the J Balvin and Ed collabs are bombing. goes to show not even Ed can make anything a hit single.

#43 is very good for Tate McRae and she wasn't that high on NMF (#10)

I think Cat Burns is #3 combined with Go!!

Pharrell's old song climbed so quick last week but seems to be already dropping now

Spotify has updated... woah at Vibe Chemistry! Drum & bass seems to properly be back now :cheer:

47. Vibe Chemistry (feat. Songer, Mr Traumatik, Devilman & OneDa) - Balling - Edit

This track must have become big on TikTok to have that high a Spotify debut?

How can Ed honestly think it's a good idea to drop new music at this time? It's just common sense and business logic to avoid oversaturating the market.

He just had a number 1 album, four number 1 singles, a recent collab with Taylor, is currently on a feature in the top 20 and he decides to drop more music and has plans to release two more albums? Is it arrogance? Stupidity? Opportunistic? I know he's desperate to get the most number 1 singles ever but surely he must know this isn't the way to do it?

It was the same with Little Mix last year. They dropped about ten singles in the space of a year and things ended up fizzling out and their Greatest Hits was an underwhelming release because of how much stuff they'd thrown out.

Take a wild guess

I wonder is it Australia driving this recent drum and bass revival, the genre does seem to be big over there thanks to Pendulum!

I have confidence that one day people on here will realise that sometimes artists release music just because they want to release music and not because they want it to do well on the charts, but it seems today is not that day lol

Nope, the Vibe Chemistry song is as British as it comes in terms of accents

Exaggeration much? They released four singles in 2020 which is pretty standard for a studio album (I'm not including the grats/preview tracks), and then at the end of the year they featured on a dance collab. I don't think that's excessive at all. And their Greatest Hits was hardly underwhelming, it did pretty decently for a GH in this day and age, so much so that it's in the top 20 on its 19th week in the chart!

I would wait my judgement until the 30k... no make that 50k of signed singles have been released.

I say this during every Ed release but surely selling 50k cds is more legitimate than being streamed a load of times?

He could also say that they are for charity, people in Ukraine or sth.

Anyway, the most clever part is that with J Balvin being credited first the new songs can actually chart as they won't be among his 3 most popular this week.

Sweet Melody - October 2020

No Time For Tears - November 2020

Confetti - April 2021

Heartbreak Anthem - May 2021

Kiss My (Uh Oh) - July 2021

Love Sweet Love - September 2021

No - November 2021

That’s seven singles in a year plus they had Break Up Song and Holiday before this, a Brit Award win, all the press attention over Jesy leaving and the Boyz release drama, the press attention over the pregnancies and births.

I didn’t say the album was a flop. It’s done really well. I mean that the actual release felt very underwhelming as they didn’t get a final hit single to use as a ‘goodbye’ or celebration and instead their last singles just scraped the top 40. They had completely overexposed themselves by that point with endless singles.

He could also say that they are for charity, people in Ukraine or sth.

Desperate Debby finding every loophole possible.

Again though selling cds is surely a legitimate way of selling music? People go out of their way to buy the actual product.

Yeh but not everything is a nasty trick he plays, your just assuming the worst in him again.
