Clash debuted with 46k. Alright that had Stormzy on it as well but the bar for #1 will be lower than that next week with Bruno on ACR, definitely a possibility he could do it.

Dave is releasing a single on Thursday at 8pm I believe.

 

Given he does well on streams and he’s a pretty big name in UK music too maybe he could be the next #1? Track is called Starlight just been announced by the man himself on his socials.

 

Is this just a random new single or a deluxe song from the last album?

 

Depends if it’s commercial Dave or his serious tracks whether it’ll do well in the singles chart.

At the moment I don’t know yet if it’s the start of a re-release, a whole new era or just a stand alone single.

 

His last album done very well commercially though as well as critically so it should stream well on first week the longevity I’d say may depend more on how commercial it is.

 

I was kinda hoping we’d see some of his album tracks get a push as his last album was so strong but any new music from Dave is good news for me. He’s Such a star :wub:

It sounds very commercial going off the teaser. Should be an easy #1.

 

Dave's back cat is actually doing very well right now cos of the Tour so I'm sure there'll be a ton of hype.

I wondered why Clash and Screwface Capital are top 100 officially atm? Both big on Tiktok recently I assume?

New single sounds good, surefire #1 next week then sorted, Im sure he can do ca. 50K

I thought it might be because of the first line of Screwface Capital that it was in the top 100, although that would be in poor taste now for TikTokers to make it viral now cause of that.

The new season of Top Boy is out in a couple of weeks - Dave contributed a couple of tracks to the soundtrack for season 1 (notably top 20 hit Professor X) so the timing makes me think this could be for that?

This is great timing from Dave to have a chance of hitting #1 but I definitely wouldn't call it 'surefire', even with the relatively low bar for the #1 sales it'll still need a pretty similar opening to 'Clash' to pull it off. Just as good a chance of it just being a 'Titanium' level hit I'd think.

Has Sia's 'Unstoppable' showed up anywhere lately? It's on that Samsung ad which they seem to play every ad break on ITV. It's a brilliant song so I was hoping it would pick up a few extra streams from the ad.

 

EDIT: Just seen that it's almost top 10 on iTunes :dance: pity that doesn't seem to be translating to streams!

If Bruno and Peru are on ACR as expected Dave really should do at least the 30k or so required for #1. Would prefer it to not be a default #1 even though I like the Lost Frequencies song.

but #1 & 3 now, Lost Frequencies have squeezed at #2

 

so kinda looks like it's doing worst on Amazon too

On Amazon this morning, after a run of 24 days of We Don't Talk About Bruno being #1 & #2, the second version has dropped to #3! Where Are You Now climbs to #2 in its place.

 

Some interesting old songs in the top 100 - as well as Unstoppable (#99 today), Dave has Funky Friday and Location joining Clash, and I had to think about this one until I realised what day it was:
