Arrdee who made the Top 200 with Thursday evening releases for both 'Flowers' and 'War' not there yet so 'Come and Go' not so likely to be as big. That said, it was a rush release so maybe not as much inital promo/hype - see how it settles.

I just can't get into Dave. He's a great rapper but I wish his songs were a bit more memorable. On the other hand I don't usually like ArrDee but 'Come & Go' is pretty good!

Listen to the current Dave album, is absolutely brilliant, all political lyrics attacking government immigration policies etc.

Very strong start for Dave so looks like a #1 debut should be achievable as long as it doesn't collapse too hard during the week.

 

'BMW' climbing so rapidly on Spotify without a corresponding climb on Apple Music seems a little weird ('Reggae & Calypso' by contrast has been climbing quickly over the last few days on both). I'm not seeing much evidence that 'BMW' has been blowing up on TikTok either? Whereas 'Reggae & Calypso' is bringing up recent uploads of videos for a slowed + reverb TikTok version so that definitely is TikTok.

Yay for Reggae and Calypso, production and bassline is hard hitting! A Slowed and Reverb version doesnt sound very good though, surely one of the appeals of the song is the fast rapping?

The Dave sample is a really lovely version of Sinatra's 'Fly me to the Moon', the sort of track they have on early 2000s chill out compilations - wonder if it is an official cover version he samples or did he come up with the new instrumentation? To early for the Wiki article to explain it all.

Weirdly the Dave song seems to have only Dave credited as a songwriter though. I don't think 'Fly Me To The Moon' is old enough to be in the public domain so I wonder how he is getting away with that? (Unless it is just Spotify's credits being inaccurate).

 

The new Digga D track off to a very weak start on Apple by his standards so may have spoken too soon about this being a first top 40 hit for Moneybagg Yo :lol: also certainly looks like Camila isn't going to be contending for anywhere near a #1 even with Ed in tow oops ~

 

Looks like we may have yet another Nigerian hit incoming with that Pheelz/Buju song rapidly rising on Apple.
