I do think Janine is getting a bit too much blame for what happened to Mick. He and Linda basically caused the accident in the first place. Plus all these people talking about how wonderful he was, he was basically written as one of the most selfish characters ever. Certainly not worth more than any of the other current characters.
Linda caused the crash. She jumped in the car and FOUGHT WITH SOMEONE DRIVING ON A CLIFF!!! Thry also tried to run her off the road lol. Ridiculous.
But it's not that crash she's been arrested for. She's been arrested for perverting the course of justice by framing Linda for drink driving in the previous accident. Which she did do.
Linda Henry is absolutely SHINING this week. Loved Shirley's scene with Denise and Jean in the Vic tonight
Well if you're going to be technical about it, Mick caused his own death by choosing to go back into the water.

Okay, so you're driving. A woman jumps in and starts FIGHTING WITH YOU AND GRABBING THE WHEEL!!!! GRABBING THE WHEEL!! and trying to make you crash. Someone jumps in your car and STARTS FIGHTING WITH YOU. You los3 controla nd crash. Who is to blame?

The onky way you can say Janine is to blame is because she doesn't know how to lock doors...

It's irrelevant. Mick's friends and family are blaming her for it because they believe the whole situation came about because of her manipulation in the first place. The law is blaming her for an entirely different crime which she was indeed guilty of.

Just watched tonight's episode before work and there's a surprise exit in it (and no it's not Ricky :kink:)
They were all more than open to that manipulation though. It’s bad writing at the heart of it but Janine was not subtle in her manipulation and there were all fair warned and could see all the signs or, in Mick’s case, we’re aware of stringing Janine along. But it’s typical Carter behaviour to blame anyone but themselves.

"we could watch a film if you'd like... Texas Chainsaw Massacre"

Agreed and that was no different tonight, it broke my heart when she read the tag on Mick's present for Scarlett. I hope tonight's exit isn't permanent :(

It’s been confirmed that Shirley will be back. But I’m not sure if she should be to be honest. This felt like quite an appropriate exit and I can’t really see why she’d leave her daughter and grandson to return to where Heather, Tina and Mick all died. As great as she is, it’s not like Shirley hasn’t had her time.

Some CHOICE writing tonight ranging from Jean accusing Bobby of murder (albeit in a game) to Whitney musing over how Janine had the audacity to force a man to love her like Whitney herself didn’t try the exact same thing with the exact same man a few years ago.

Ah thanks for that! I did wonder, after Shirley phrased her departure more as some time away. It's true, she's had an incredibly rough time especially over the last year :( so now feels like a natural period for her to step back from the square - fabulous exit shot alongside Lady Di and all. In the past week, on top of the strong acting performances that she's turned in, I have really enjoyed some of the choices of characters for her to interact with - today for example with Denise and Jean, I'd definitely love to see some strong friendship angles with her upon return. I suppose there's also Ollie (and Annie) to be around for as well when Linda is back.

Fabrizio Santino (Ziggy from Hollyoaks) has been cast as Brett, someone from Zack's past who is going to disrupt his storyline with Whitney.

I thought the Christmas Day ep was amazing. Completely gripped me from start to finish.

Only just caught up on the remainder of the weeks eps and they have been so good.

Glad Shirley is coming back but she needs to leave for a while (like Linda) so it's not just scene after scene of them grieving.

Guess the focus is now back on the Mitchells for a while and then the Lola storyline will proper kick in again.

Oh... my only gripe was how Janine was arrested. So Rickey rings them and they turn up and arrest her straight away before having any conversation about what she has been accused of? So just arrested on the say so of her brother's phone call?
