Are they really going to kill off Phil? I feel like Sharon or Kathy would've been a lot more upset in that scene if it was him. Linda seemed the most shocked of the lot making me think it's Dean.
Killing Phil off at Christmas would be a bit silly considering the 40th anniversary will be just over a year away at that point and surely they’ll want all the big characters that they can get present.
I wouldn't be disappointed if Phil was killed off as I'm tired of his character but I think it's highly unlikely to happen.
Also have to say i'm delighted that Kathy is part of this storyline as well. She deserves to have more to do.

Agree!

Loved the Denise stuff tonight, her predicament is being pretty well written and acted. Not sure why Ravi had to give her a hotel key or where he’s managed to find the most old fashioned hotel in London that still uses actual keys for the rooms.

But tired of Karen getting her hours cut and then complaining about how much she needs the money when she spends every other moment drinking in the Vic. We’ve done this at least twice before, give her another storyline.

I wonder who Linda was on the phone to.

I loathe affair storylines but this one has been developed so well. The show really is on a roll at the minute.

No way Phil's getting killed off! His cufflinks are a total red herring.

Lol yes!! Why do they all go to the pub when cash strapped?!

The affair storyline is v unrealistic. Why would she marry neanderthal Jack in thr first place, and why would he accept his wife goin away suddenly for a night?! Come on!

The Denise affair is very well from from her characters side, there is a real intensity in the scenes to as in where her head is at, its like she doesn't want the affair in many ways but the attention is over ruling it.

I did find the Denise thing very tense to watch but...

Why would she "go away" when Jack was away and have to find people to look after the kids? Surely it would just be easier for it to be organised when Jack was there?

She has spent two nights away from home recently and it's been accepted - one at Kim's, one in The Vic - so it wouldn't be suddenly out of character.

Each night she was away though, Jack did make a big deal about it or made her feel like it was a big deal. Jack has treated her appallingly and I’m relieved so far they’ve not done the usual trope of making him suddenly appear like a perfect partner when she decides to cheat. If anything, they’ve shown that the relationship is pretty one sided and let’s face it, it was one bourne of convenience to begin with.
That look from Ravi while he lurked near Denise's was chilling. Damn.

Indeed, stalker storyline now?

I enjoyed how Denise's considered perspective was played out too.

At least they addressed it on screen and had her find and ask people to look after the kids rather than her just magically being able to go away with no notice as it would've been done in the past.

They smashed it again tonight, what a great week of episodes for the anniversary

Another great episode. The care they’ve taken into showing Denise’s thought process just wouldn’t have happened a year ago. I’m not even rooting for her and Ravi, but I am rooting for her to find happiness and she just can’t with Jack.

Bit of a schedule shake up this week due to the FA Cup.

Two outings on Monday, one on Thursday and one on Friday.

It’s a shame they’ve had to bring Whitney down this road. For one thing, she’s had so much tragedy in her life, this kind of feels unnecessary. For another, it just feels like her having a baby is something we just need to get out of the way. I hope they don’t go down a sensationalist route of Whitney agreeing to raise Lilly’s child as her own.
