March 11, 20224 yr Here hope heat waves gone out its defo climbed, especially as it got to #1 in the us this week
March 11, 20224 yr Heat Waves still doesn't feel the kind of song to hang around for eternity. I like it or at least I did like it a lot when I first heard it but I don't really understand its enduring popularity.
March 11, 20224 yr Author 26 | 17 | 5th week ArrDee and Aitch War 3rd single from Pier Pressure Released: 3rd February 2022 Label: ArrDee Chart Statistics NE (17/02/2022) | 6-12-14-17-26 Sales: 80k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 21 Sales 12 Audio Streaming 04 Video Streaming Video SnaHMFvhNwQ Biography ArrDee “I'm an English boy, but I'm so bloody lit!” Those words arrive part of the way through ArrDee’s guest verse on the remix of Russ Million and Tion Wayne’s spring 2021 single, “Body”, and they served as the bright neon-sign advertisement for a charismatic new British rapper. ArrDee’s cameo on that track lasted less than 30 seconds, but its saucy sexual innuendo (not to mention the sharp pink sweatsuit/Burberry scarf combo he wore in the accompanying video) was enough to make him an instant viral sensation. The Brighton-based MC (born Riley Davies in 2002) wasted no time capitalising on his big breakout moment by dropping the Dickens-inspired “Oliver Twist” that June, reaffirming his flair for colourful, distinctly British storytelling that recalls a young Mike Skinner. But for all his rapid success, ArrDee credits his hometown for keeping him humble—and inspired. “In Brighton, it’s different than London—we say thank you to the bus driver, everyone says hello to everybody,” he tells Apple Music. “Even when I got to the clubs, they try to put me in VIP, but I like to be around the people. - Apple Music Aitch Navigating rap stardom is a tricky thing, but Aitch has it down pat. He’s chameleonic like the pop stars he collabs with, gritty like the grime artists that inspired him. Born Harrison Armstrong in Manchester in 1999, Aitch grew up removed from the London scene, where grime blossomed during his formative years, but soaked up the music from afar. Then, as a teenager, he started rapping, building a following online with his snaking flows and dizzying rhyme schemes. Things took off in 2018 when he dropped his menacing debut single “Straight Rhymez”, and Aitch has since risen to the pantheon of hip-hop. In tracks like the 2019 remix of Ed Sheeran’s “Take Me Back To London”, you’ll hear his transition away from grime to sticky pop-rap, but his dexterous raps remind that he hasn’t lost touch with his roots. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History ArrDee 2021 06 Oliver Twist -1- 2021 99 Jiggy (Whiz) -NAS- 2021 06 Wasted (Digga D & ArrDee) 2021 19 Wid It (Tion Wayne & ArrDee) 2021 05 Flowers (Say My Name) -2- 2022 06 War (ArrDee & Aitch) -3- 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 4 x Top 10 | 5 x Top 20 | 5 x Top 40 | 6 x Top 100 Aitch 2019 73 On The Way Home (JayKae & Aitch feat. March 11, 20224 yr Author 24 | 26 | 69th week Glass Animals Heat Waves 4th single from Dreamland Released: 29th June 2020 Label: Polydor Records Chart Statistics NE (29/10/2020) | 68-63-68-68-67-73-91-x RE (14/01/2021) | 48-45-43-38-34-24-26-23-22-24-23-25-24-21-24-20-19-19-22-30-57-57-58-63-61-68-65-73-59-57-54-57-53-60-18-10-8-7-8-5-5-6-5-7-8-28-31-41-51-53-65-72-25-33-34-35-31-27-28-27-26-24 Sales: 1,300k+ Certification: 2x Platinum Status: Accelerated Chart Ratio 18 Sales 06 Audio Streaming 14 Video Streaming Video mRD0-GxqHVo Biography According to legend, Glass Animals chose their name by picking two words out of the dictionary at random—but you couldn’t come up with a better combination for a group that toes the line between the pristine and primal. On their 2014 debut, Zaba, the Oxford quartet aligned themselves with a storied lineage of abstract alt-rock—the moody atmospheres of Radiohead, the tropical textures of Animal Collective—but in Dave Bayley, Glass Animals possess an uncommonly smooth singer who could mould those left-field influences into sultry, R&B-flavoured pop songs. While the album made them indie darlings, it also earned the group admirers beyond the typical NME reader—the 2015 single “Lose Control” saw them team up with Brooklyn MC Joey Bada$$ for a trippy rap track. That sense of anything-goes openness fully flourished on 2016’s How to Be a Human Being, whose procession of freaky, funky anthems and synth-smeared slow jams earned Glass Animals their first Mercury Prize nomination. But after drummer Joe Seaward was nearly killed in a 2018 cycling accident, Glass Animals dialled down the eccentricity for 2020’s Dreamland, a more intimate record that further harmonized the art-rock/club-pop dialectic at the heart of their music. Speaking about the single “Your Love (Déjà Vu)” to Apple Music, Hayley said, “The idea was to take my favourite '90s producers like Timbaland and The Neptunes and the way they used samples, yet record a lot of those sounds in the way The Beatles or Beach Boys might’ve done it... and then taking Beatles and Beach Boys sounds and resampling them as [those producers] might’ve done.” That Dreamland cracked the Top 10 in both the UK and US is a testament to Glass Animals’ gift for melding different styles and eras into the sound of now. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2020 05 Heat Waves -1- MILLIONAIRE 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Social Media Glass Animals http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
March 11, 20224 yr Fun Fact - Heat Waves has overtaken All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey for slowest climb to number one in the American Billboard chart this week
March 11, 20224 yr I really expected War to be bigger than this tbh. It's been removed from playlists because of... well, a certain world event.
March 11, 20224 yr Amazing achievement for Heat Waves to get the #1 in the US this week It's been #2 all week on Spotify in the UK, so people are still not bored of it Edited March 11, 20224 yr by Bjork
March 11, 20224 yr It's been removed from playlists because of... well, a certain world event. I'm suprised it's still in the charts.
March 11, 20224 yr #24 is its highest position while on ACR, befitting that it's hit new heights on Spotify the last week or so. Some songs are just set up for longevity more than others.
March 11, 20224 yr Author 23 | 20 | 14th week D-Block Europe featuring AJ Tracey Make You Smile 4th single from Home Alone 2 Released: 19th November 2021 Label: D-Block Europe Chart Statistics NE (16/12/2021) | 42-25-35-46-15-16-21-22-19-53-45-19-20-23 Sales: 200k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio __ Sales 12 Audio Streaming 09 Video Streaming Video kFlfgHvgetY Biography “We’re the ones that are pushing this boundary,” D-Block Europe’s Young Adz told Apple Music. “People who are signing urban music over here—they call it urban, we call it pop in the streets—that ain’t street music. We’re doing street, UK, wavy music, front-lining it.” They might not consider themselves pop, but by the most literal definition, DBE are just that. Chart positions, sold-out arenas and a nomination for the 2020 BRIT Award for British Group (before they’d even released a debut album) all make them one of UK rap’s most popular acts. D-Block Europe was originally a collective that called upon various London MCs, but Adz and childhood friend Dirtbike LB have emerged as both the engine room and executive board of the operation. They met at Sedgehill School in South London, where Adz was dropping mixtapes from the age of 13. He signed an ultimately fruitless major-label deal at 15 before coming under the patronage of NY rap heavyweight Jadakiss, who offered features, support slots and license to use The LOX’s D-Block Records name. With a series of self-released singles and mixtapes, Young Adz and Dirtbike LB took their place at UK rap’s top table during the late 2010s. Leavening trap’s chilly textures and portraits of road life with sticky Auto-Tuned hooks, their music is notable for its nimble wordplay and candour. While D-Block quickly gathered notoriety for their unfiltered bedroom braggadocio (“Kitchen Kings”), their willingness to open up about mental health and therapy (“Prescription Drugs”) has made them a standout presence in UK rap. It’s all been done independently by the industrious duo (63 new tracks released across three mixtapes during 2019 alone). They’ve continuously waved away offers from labels, confident that no one can guide their career as well as they can. Every award, Top 5 release or filled arena only strengthens their self-belief. “When you see Messi kick ball, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” said Young Adz. “Sometimes, the people have to choose you because they’re like, ‘We ain’t never going to see this again—from their sounds, from what they talk about.’ Our personalities shine through our music. We’re bigger personalities than rappers.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History D-Block Europe 2018 49 Gucci Mane (D-Block Europe & Yxng Bane) -1- 2018 35 Nassty (D-Block Europe, Young Adz, Dirtbike LB & Lil Pino) -NAS- 2018 80 Tell The Truth (The Plug presents D-Block Europe & Rich The Kid) 2019 16 Kitchen Kings -1- 2019 62 Kettle Pouring -AT- 2019 70 Running Man -AT- 2019 20 Home P*ssy -1- 2019 53 Rich (The Plug presents D-Block Europe & Offset) 2019 16 Nookie (feat.
