Call Me teetered over into Eurocheese for me, though the synth riffs are fun. Axel F was OK until Crazy frog destroyed it. Nik Kershaw is always good, whatever he does, but I prefer Wouldnt It Be Good and The Riddle to this one.
Axel F is a tune in both original and Crazy Frog versions and I won't hear a word against it tbh

Hah!

On behalf of all grown-ups forced to watch Crazy Frog when the kids were round, I can only say "Ring ding d-ding daa baa"

Or something like that :D

All of those were decent but didn’t quite make my votes… wondering what will fall next for me, I was surprised to see that I had the most points still left in as thought I’d lost a few more along the way

A new rate record of 7 voters for this one which dates back to the early 70s but after Lennon’s death shot to the runner up spot and is now a festive fixture on the charts. It’s also our 3rd favourite No 2 of 1980.

Top 40 will be revealed tomorrow but sadly our first 30 pointer will leave before we get there......

Love Lennon but War Is Over is a mess in my opinion - least favourite thing in the Top 50.

My mid tier votes are dropping like flies - Song For Whoever is just so witty and charming.

I’m wondering when Gezza’s going to bring out the Kryptonite for Superman - impressed at how high it’s flown!

I suspect Happy Xmas lost a few votes because it's an older song, maybe one day we'll need a rate of all the songs which peaked in a later decade so they get a fair crack :kink: The overplay thing as per all good Christmas songs doesn't help. Anyway it's the first loss from my top 15, but I'm guaranteed at least 20 songs in the final 40 so yay.
I’m concerned that O Superman’s time may be up soon :( So pleased it’s got this far!

oh looks like I forgot to vote for Song for Whoever :/

love the song, one of the best opening lines ever ("I love you from the bottom of my pencil case")

can't believe I voted for Duran Duran twice, a band I kinda dislike, but forgot to vote for BS

Well the song is all about forgetting I suppose…

Lauper’s cover proved her biggest hit and we like it enough to make it our 2nd favourite No 2 hit of 1984.

This isn’t our favourite Phil Collins 80s No 2 hit but it’s certainly …Ready for it’s favourite No 2 of the decade as they give this maximum points.

Wow it's been ages since any of my votes dropped out!

Pleasantly surprised to see 'Beat Dis' and 'Crockett's Theme' still in the running *.*

Wow I’ve absolutely crashed and burned on the leaderboard - lost 6 in 41-50!

On reflection 25 was a bit high for Another Day In Paradise; it’s great but his other one left is better really. Pleased that O Superman lives another day!
