'Save a Prayer' was a bit of a slow burner for me over the years but, as you can see from my points, I absolutely love it now!

That vs. 'Ordinary World' for my favourite of theirs I think.

Save A Prayer is my fave Rio-era and pre-Rio-era track, except maybe Planet Earth and it's lovely with those floaty synthy sounds, But I still stand by Wild Boys as being better, or at least more exciting! As is recent Tove Lo collab single Give It All Up (not a number 2 anywhere).

Temptation has been robbed! It's a stunning record and that vocal by Carol Kenyan is quite possibly the best uncredited guest-vocal of all-time. A brilliant record that I have never ever tired of hearing. Exciting, powerful, emotional, soaring, histrionic....everything that True wasn't. Shame...(ring bell)....shame....(ring bell)....shame (etc)

Wow two fantastic number twos lost tonight - I echo everything PCF said about Heaven 17, an amazing record that I was gobsmackeed upon hearing on the old TOTP episodes was from 1983 as it sounds like a record from the mid-90s!

A new rate record with 15 of us giving this track points (which means only 9 of us gave it nothing including me). For all that only 3 of you placed it in your top 10 though as it becomes the 2nd favourite No 2 of 83.

last 4 are pretty average, with Flashdance being the best out of those
The Living Years is definitely not average, it's such an emotional and meaningful song lyrically and musically there are some gorgeous chord progressions, particularly in the verses. Sublime track. Shame to see Flashdance out before the top ten too!

Flashdance is a great pop tune with an iconic video, and much better than Irene Cara's Fame, while I still can't listen to M+TM. My grandma died around that time and it still makes me very sad as I associate it with her loss, and even more so now I've lost dad. So I don't think I will ever get over that to listen to it objectively.

Well, I'm still Holding Out For A Zero as we approach the top 10. We are on 250-32= 218 points left currently. Will the next 2 blow us out big? currently 2nd 3 points in it and 9 of our voted faves left so the odds are 2 of them will crash and they are all big-ish pointers, how exciting! :o

I think I only have four left now oops! I always love a good underdog but at the same time, I can realistically see three of the four being top 10!
So pleased The Living Years has so many big fans on here, I never hear it that much, but it's a beautiful, haunting song with great use of a choir  Flashdance is a classic too, that and Fame should've really swapped chart places, this feels much more memorable.

2 beautiful and uplifting songs out - really hoped The Living Years would be Top 10 but still a good result!

Also pretty surprised to see Bonnie still in but then Buzzjack loves a camp anthem (and so do I).

Tears For Fears is my most take or leave it track left I think; wouldn’t mind that missing the Top 10.

Swiftly after 'Kids In America', 'Flashdance' is another really joyful one *.* I need to revisit 'The Living Years' more, I've heard it a few times and do like it, but it's been a while.

'Holding Out For A Hero' is a good song but I've never warmed to Bonnie's voice so would most like that to drop out before the top 10 (Shrek 2 version ftw)

Looking through what's remaining there the only one I don't think I've ever heard is 'Funkytown', apparently it's been sampled a lot in songs before but never heard that in full. Maybe that out or 'Push It' and Bonnie perhaps.
So top 10 revealed tomorrow! What do we want to miss it?

Bonnie Tyler and Stranglers definitely. ;)

I'm a fan of joyful, euphoric 80s pop, so I'm pleased Flashdance got so many voters. I'm hoping the same two songs Dandy mentioned drop out next - I like Radio Ga Ga but it's not among Queen's absolute best for me, and I've been holding out for the other to drop out for a while.
Bonnie and Salt n Pepa for me. I quite like Hero, I like Push It, but there's a def gap between those and the next one I rate. :jump:
