'Supernova' is a very apt title as the song is so explosive and epic. That high pitched, belting vocal before the final chorus is incredible and even better on the Infinite Disco performance. It's actually my favourite on 'Disco', although 'Say Something' is close behind.

'Butterfly' is another larger-than-life song from Kylie that would have been an excellent choice for single #5. Definitely fits well with the euro-club scene of the time as well as being very Kylie. Pure euphoria from start to finish!

'Dancefloor Darling' is far too high for me, but still a great track and I welcomed the prospect of it becoming a single as it did change up the pace of the singles released, even if that never quite transpired (although does blur the lines even more of what is a single or not in this day and age). The tempo increase towards the end is a highlight for sure.

I'm going with this as my prediction for the final three and it's what I'm hoping for too:

1) Light Years

2) Like a Drug

3) White Diamond

3. White Diamond - 9.041

At the #3 spot is White Diamond, a song from Kylie's 10th studio album X; it appeared as a bonus track on the Austraian & New Zealand iTunes editions of the album. The song was written by Kylie, Jake Shears & Babydaddy, whilst production was handled by the latter two & made its premier on the 'Homecoming Tour' in 2006 where an uptempo dance version of the song was performed. The track was also used as the main theme to her 2007 documentry 'White Diamond: A Personal Portrait of Kylie Minouge' , which marked her return to the stage after her battle with breast cancer.

Honestly never expected this to be so high on here, but the scores don't lie & just goes to show at how loved this beautiful number is. This really should have made its way onto the 'main edition of the 'X' album (like many others), sure the sound doesn't quite fit, but you can say that about a lot of the tracks on there. The lyrics are touching & the piano & string arrangements are gorgeous & really adds to the melancholy nature of the track. The upbeat version is also great & may actually be a little better, but its the ballad version that's probably more important as it marked her almighty return to music. This really needs some sort of reprise on one of her tours or at the very least get properly added to streaming services as ita a truly magical number that deserves to be more remembered than it actually is.

So now we're down to the final 2:

"Light Years" VS "Like A Drug"

Who will win, stay tuned to find out?

I wouldnt have expected white diamond to be as high but im happy with it as its a good song and yet another example of a better track been left off X in favour of a weaker track, do like both the fast version and slow version of the song. Im really happy with the top 2 aswell as i love both songs, id pick like a drug to win but would be happy if light years does as both are great, i prefer both songs to many of her singles.

White Diamond is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing that divine performance. It was a new one for me.

I enjoy both versions equally, which is probably testament to the quality of songwriting. Should definitely have been a bonus track on X (at the very least).

Like a Drug and Light Years showcase the strength of Kylie's material on her studio albums and demonstrate she offers quality tracks outside of what is released as singles.

I was right about the top 2 but it's going to be close.

White Diamond is gorgeous and the Live in New York version is top level Kylie.

It's a win win top 2 for me as both are brill. I'd like kylie to perform like a drug again on some tour or even mix it with another song a bit like turn it into love/light years which was brilliant.

2. Light Years - 9.666

In the runner-up spot is Light Years, which features on Kylie's 7th studio album of the same name & was written by Kylie, Richard Stannard and Julian Gallagher and was produced by the latter two. Lyrically the song talks about a futuristic fllight & life in the future. The song was also in contention for release as the album's 4th single, but 'Please Stay' was ultimately chosen instead. 'Light Years' has become a firm fan favourite since its release & has been performed on 4 of Kylie's tours, its first being the 'On A Night Like This Tour' in 2001 to promote the album, as well as 'KylieFever2002', The 'Homecoming Tour' & the 'For You, For Me' tour in 2009. It's most recent performance on was on her 'Infinite Disco' live stream concert in 2020.

After a pretty close battle 'Light Years' lost out by just 3 points, but this like the #1 song is a more than worthy song in Kylie's amazing back catalogue. This brilliantly camp number really takes you back to the 70's disco sound with its crisp production, cool disco beats, vivid grooves & melodic backing vocals that takes you to another world (a futuristic one) if you will & all of which are the hallmarks of the modern disco genre at its very best. Well what else can I say about this fabulous track that yes it ends the album on an almight bang & everytime she performs this live its always a stellar & welcomed performance choice.

1. Like A Drug - 9.916

So there you have it Buzzjack we are finally at the end of our Kylie album track results & the winner is...Like A Drug with a whopping average of 9.916, scoring mostly 11's & 10's & no score lower than an 8, a worthy winner. The track features on Kylie's 10th studio album "X" & was written by Mich Hedin Hansen, Jonas Jeberg, Engelina Andrina and Adam Powers, while production was handled by Cutfather and Jeberg. The song has been noted for its similarites to the Human League's 'Being Boiled'. Upon the album's release it recieved mixed to positive reviews with many noted that it could have made a great single choice & was at one point during the album's recording sessions considered to be the lead single along with 'Wow', until '2 Hearts' got chosen instead. The song was first performed on her 'KylieX2008' tour, which was launched in support of her "X" album. Then finally on her North American tour 'For Me, For You' in 2009.

How this got scrapped in favour of '2 Hearts' is beyond me & just goes to show the poor decision making when it came to that era. Well anyway this was what really began the album properly with its sublime electro beats, intense bass-lines & razor sharp production. The song's grinding synths are also superb, as well as Kylie's cool & sensual vocals - the song simply ROCKS! & could have easily been a huge smash hit. It's winning status on here is not surprising as since the album's release its been a firm fan fave & even after 14 years its aged like a fine wine. I would just like to thank everyone whose taken part in this vote & the many wonderful comments in the results process, sure its been one hell of a journey, but we got there in the end, so THANK YOU BUZZJACK, its been a long & interesting ride.

Epic rundown thank you Nina West, I think even if many more members had voted, the top two would still be these 2 magnificent tracks.
