In fact, Jones (born Timucin Aluo in 1987) was a co-writer and producer on the song, and its No. 1 position marked his auspicious debut. Raised in London by a Turkish father, a Malaysian mother and a Nigerian stepfather, the Apple Music Up Next alum grew up on a mix of American hip-hop, UK dance and African music, which might help to explain the mix of styles that swirls through his own tracks: His youthful fondness for Prince shows through in funk-infused cuts like 2015’s “Ocean Drive”, while Afro-Caribbean accents bubble up in 2018’s “Ring Ring”, a lilting tropical-house collaboration with Mabel and Rich the Kid. Though his beats generally follow the punchy cadence of deep-diving future house, he brings a hip-hop producer’s collage sensibility to the mixing desk: Many of his productions slyly interpolate other songs. “You Don’t Know Me”, from 2016, is built around the slinky hook of M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade’s 2005 anthem “Body Language”, while “I Got U” contains a choice bit of Whitney Houston’s “My Love Is Your Love”. Whether on his own productions or his remixes for Ellie Goulding, Charli XCX and Missy Elliott, Jones’ habitual blend of pop polish and house groove is unmistakable. “I just thought I'd try it,” he told Apple Music about his relationship to dance music. “House is a collage of everything the creator is. If you love hip-hop, you can chuck that in there. If you love rock, you can chuck that in there too. It took a long time, but now it makes a lot of sense. It’s sample-based and also musical, so it's a very natural fit. Life is beautiful like that. They say you have to, like, get rid of yourself to go to the next level. And I think that’s what happened.” - Apple Music MNEK At only 24 years old; artist, writer, and GRAMMY award-winning producer MNEK has already clocked up an astonishing ten years in the business, having signed a publishing deal aged just 14. With his early material like ‘Never Forget You’ (with Zara Larsson) and ‘Ready For Your Love’ (with Gorgon City) to his more recent collaborations such as ‘Blinded By Your Grace’ (with Stormzy), he has an impressive 1 billion streams to his name. The list of people he's written and produced for along the way is hard to quantify - Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, Little Mix, Madonna, Diplo, Zara Larsson, Julia Michaels and Stormzy to name but a few. With his debut album ‘Language’ which was released in September 2018 on Virgin EMI, MNEK took centre stage with a remarkable and bold body of work. Embracing and filling the gap in the pop star market he didn’t have to look up to while growing up. Accumulating over 40 million Spotify streams across the album, ‘Language’ features singles ‘Tongue’, ‘Correct’, ‘Paradise’ and ‘Colour’ featuring Hailee Steinfeld. - Spotify Top 100 Chart History Jax Jones 2014 01 I Got U (Duke Dumont feat. April 29, 20224 yr Author 08 | 08 | 8th week Camila Cabello featuring Ed Sheeran Bam Bam 2nd single from Familia Released: 4th March 2022 Label: Epic Records Chart Statistics NE (17/03/2022) | 22-18-16-10-10-9-8-8 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 01 Sales 12 Audio Streaming 19 Video Streaming Video -8VfKZCOo_I Biography In an interview with Apple Music about her 2018 debut Camila, Camila Cabello told a story about a conversation she had at a Grammy party. It was a guy—a famous guy, a celebrity. “A flirtationship,” she called it. But even as their chat warmed up, Cabello sensed the guy was still performing, like he was stuck in a loop he couldn’t turn off. It freaked her out a little, but it also reminded her that too much polish can ruin anything. “I feel like the human stuff, the twisted stuff, the little isms—that’s what makes people interesting,” she said. In a culture where relatability has to share space with professionalism and hustle, Cabello has become one of the most grounded, appealing artists in pop, the kind of singer whose real-life circumstances—a young Cuban American woman, a little OCD, hopelessly romantic—comes through in her music without ever seeming idiosyncratic or self-involved. The conversation at the party? She wrote a song about it called “In the Dark,” because that’s what Camila Cabello does. Born in Havana in 1997, Cabello sang with the reality-show group Fifth Harmony before starting a solo career around 2017. Her best tracks—“Havana,” “Crying in the Club,” “Sēnorita,” “She Loves Control”—merge the sound and feel of classic Latin pop (from Celia Cruz to Calle 13) with contemporary R&B and the singer-songwriter intimacy of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. As much as Cabello is a product of her upbringing, she’s also a reflection of the merging of Latinx culture with the global mainstream—a sense of responsibility not lost on her, but not steering the ship either. And as big as she gets, she works to stay grounded. “The human part of life is what makes you happy,” she says. “Just, like, conversations with people. Even walking in the street and having a stranger smile at you—that’s what really makes you happy. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Camila Cabello 2016 42 I Know What You Did Last Summer (Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello) 2016 16 Bad Things (Machine Gun Kelly & Camila Cabello) 2017 12 Crying In The Club -NAS- 2017 15 Know No Better (Major Lazer feat. Born Adedamola Adefolahan, he grew up singing in church, started making music while at university, and eventually was signed by Nigerian rapper Olamide’s independent label, YBNL Nation. “Jealous,” his 2018 breakthrough single, won Listeners’ Choice honors at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival, presented by a popular African music TV channel. Within three days of its release, Fireboy DML’s 2019 debut album, Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps, garnered more than six million streams on a single music service. In July 2020, his “New York City Girl” reached No. 11 on Billboard’s Top Triller Global chart, and a month later, “Eli” peaked at No. 7 on the same chart. His sophomore album, APOLLO—featuring guest turns by American rapper D Smoke and Nigerian singer Wande Coal—rose to No. 14 on Billboard’s World Albums chart in 2020. - Apple Music Ed Sheeran There’s a lovely moment a little ways into Apple Music’s Songwriter documentary about Ed Sheeran in which Sheeran, jet-lagged and carrying a cup of tea, straggles out into a yard in Malibu at dawn, sits down at his laptop and begins writing a song about the moment right in front of him: the crisp air, the birdsong, the hot tea, the day ahead. He gets a full verse in, melody and all, then pauses. “Songs are weird things,” he says. “How so?” an interviewer asks. “They just come and go,” Sheeran says, smiling. “And they never give you any warning.” For Sheeran, they seem to come pretty reliably. Born in 1991 in Halifax, England, he started out gigging on the UK pub circuit before releasing his first studio album, +, in 2011, and has since become one of the most unstoppable singer-songwriters in music, forging a light blend of folk, pop, hip-hop and dance that feels slick but lived-in, intimate but universal. Whether on his own (“Sing”, “The A Team”, “Shape of You”, “Perfect”) or in collaboration with artists from Taylor Swift to Eminem to Justin Bieber, Sheeran has a unique ability to strike a chord that feels both bittersweet and redemptive, good-natured and genuine: the hopeless romantic who convinces you he might just be right. In 2017, he was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, touching Prince Charles on the arm while shaking his hand—a breach of royal protocol, and an appealingly human one at that. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Fireboy DML 2021 02 Peru (Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran) -NAS- 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Ed Sheeran 2011 03 The A Team -1- MILLION SELLER 2011 35 Hush Little Baby (Wretch 32 feat.
