Feel free to move this thread to the Eurovision forum, but like Maneskin, I think Sam's definitely going to be quite big outside of the contest!

His debut album "There's Nothing But Space, Man!" is set to be released on October 14th - hopefully this is just the start of his success

seems like space man is the beginning of this album era - probably the lead single. I wonder if there's gonna be more space themed songs
Great to see some real investment in an artist we have sent for Eurovision. Guessing there will be another single before album release based on that date. Looking forward to seeing how Space man holds up post contest. Can see him becoming a fanbase/album artist.
also october seems quite late, i hope the hype around him doesn't die by then

Ya i thought the same, its a shame it isnt out sooner, if he can get another hit after spaceman it will be good, id love to see another Eurovision artist have success as i think its great for the eurovision itself and will attract more people to actually giving the contest a go.

I think he could do quite well. He has an amazing voice and spaceman reminds me of something Queen / Freddie Mercury would do.
He needs to do all the promo possible over the next couple of weeks in the hope of stabilising Space Man, in the hope it becomes a genuine hit. I think October is sensible for an album if you’re hoping for an actual long term career as it allows for another single to be pushed. No guarantees as to the response for the second single but releasing an album now risks cementing yourself as a one hit wonder.
Yeah, now is too early. If he has another single - and hopefully R1/Spotify are willing to support it - then October is fine if perhaps on the cusp of too late.
Wishing the best for him to be able to maintain his current momentum. Of course being an established presence on TikTok even before Eurovision won't hurt!

In this day & age for a debut album? Not at all. That's pretty standard.

Damn, why was it pushed back deep into Q4 :( October was much more sensible.

I can’t call how this will do, the reaction to Somebody has been very muted, although it’s not a massively strong single. Glad to see Tiny Riot on here - more stuff like that please with bite and which shows off his voice.

i'm surprised he didn't re-release tiny riot after the success of space man but i'm glad its made the album. also the occ article said living without you is a bonus track, presumably because hes not the lead?
It’s a shame ‘Tiny Riot’ or even ‘More’ were released before the Eurovision hype as I think they would of been perfect follow up singles to ‘Space Man’. It’s not to say he couldn’t promote one of them now but I think they would of faired better freshly released.

I wonder if he has a Strictly performance lined up to tie in with release week

I think October would have been better for him to release, but is he does have a strictly performance etc secured it might help him out more in November.

I think Sam’s album will be OK as he released pre-orders after Eurovision to coincide with early access tour tickets. Many of his fans have been around since 2020 and want to hear his album. Sam wouldn’t confirm the album date in August but he said it wasn’t finished.

His European tour finishes Nov 8 and he’s promoting his album which is a good sign as he stopped promoting “Somebody” after 2 days. The BBC Ent. said he’d book Sam onto shows whenever he wanted.

I’ve heard the clips of his other tracks on iTunes for the album and this sounds very promising. With the right promotion, he could do well.
