I’m really happy for Sam :cheer: A huge achievement since May to have his first single at number 2 and his debut album at number 1. His fanbase pulled through for him.

He could have easily had the Christmas #1 album though! :o

I’m really happy for him, rounds off such a fantastic year for him and with the way he’s revived Eurovision in the UK he deserves everything. 25k was the top end of my estimate so it’s great that he did that and nothing stood in his way this time.

 

The album is pretty strong imo, I heard OK playing in HMV today and it sounded great.

Incredible for him and so deserved.

 

Also the fact we have a runner up at Eurovision scoring a #2 Gold single, a further 2 Top 75 singles and a #1 album is incredible.

I’ve put the album on my Christmas list but will buy it if I don’t get it.

I’m not sure if I’m that surprised because SPACE MAN wasn’t a massive hit in Ireland and Sam didn’t do promotion there. I think they were focused on the UK.

Good to see the album holding up fairly well this week, he should get another 10k this week which is great for his 2nd week, he is currently #5 in the mids.

Apart from All The Way Over both him and his label told Music Week there is more music planned for 2023. A lot of his album are songs he wrote in 2020/2021 so I don’t know whether he write something new instead.

It did chart, just not very high at #77.

Sam needs to side-shuffle away from pop music and produce these demos he did long before he was signed. His voice is less polished but they are so him.

I would make ‘Put A Light On Me’ a single and keep promoting the album then get a new track out in time for Eurovision which is likely he will be performing at. A track called ‘Mountain’ which he has been performing at his shows sounds perfect for a big performance at Eurovision.
