December 28, 20222 yr Author Sam's also been part of several rock/metal bands in the past, these are the albums avaliable on streaming that contain his vocals! The Morning After - You Can't Hurt Steel (2009) The Morning After - Legacy (2011) Close Your Eyes - Line In The Sand (2013) He also performed lead guitar and has backing vocals on Blessed By A Broken Heart's 'Feel the Power' (2012).
December 28, 20222 yr I would make ‘Put A Light On Me’ a single and keep promoting the album then get a new track out in time for Eurovision which is likely he will be performing at. A track called ‘Mountain’ which he has been performing at his shows sounds perfect for a big performance at Eurovision. If he could keep promoting it would be great as he is sure to get plenty of exposure in the the run up to Eurovision 23, i wouldnt be surpised if a new edition of the album gets released around that time
December 28, 20222 yr I went to my local HMV when the album was released and PALOM was playing in the background. When I heard it, I said to myself that it sounds amazing and that he should release it as the next single
December 28, 20222 yr The only song I can see being a hit from his album is Tiny Riot and it’s a crime that it hasn’t been re-released since Eurovision. I know it’s not as radio friendly as others like Put A Light On Me but the lyrics are powerful and Sam sounds great. It’s a shame it’s been allowed to flounder in the background because many consider it his strongest song and it’s his most popular one after Space Man with some liking it more than that. The BBC use his music a lot More is doing well on iTunes because of the advert. I heard some of Mountain and the chorus needs to be changed.
December 28, 20222 yr ‘Tiny Riot’ was wasted being released before the Eurovision hype. If that was released as the follow up to ‘Space Man’ I think it could have done well with promotion but I think it’s time has passed now. I still can’t believe someone thought releasing ‘Somebody’ when they had ‘Put A Light On Me’ was a good idea.

I still can’t believe someone thought releasing ‘Somebody’ when they had ‘Put A Light On Me’ was a good idea. It was and he wanted to give the song more exposure but now it’s floundering on the album when it continues to be a highlight. I like some of his older music because lyrically they are good songs and his voice is a little edgier. I think Put A Light On Me would be compared to Lay It All On Me even though IMO I don’t think they sound that alike. I couldn’t make out the verses but the Mountain chorus is too on the nose at the moment. Edited December 28, 20222 yr by Megan_
December 29, 20222 yr If he was to re release something then I would go with ‘More’ as people seem to be reacting well to that being used in the BBC trailer.
December 30, 20222 yr Songs can be "released" again. Wet Leg have had several tracks put to airplay after the album release even though they were released as a single way before. Edited December 30, 20222 yr by Sour Candy
December 30, 20222 yr Great news for another week in the top 10. Total sales are 39,924. Downloads: #5 (-2) Sales: #3 (+2) Download Chart 51. SPACE MAN (+30) 54. More (re) Sales Chart 54. SPACE MAN (+32) 56. More (re) Edited December 30, 20222 yr by Megan_
December 31, 20222 yr 3 weeks top 10 for the album is great, i was disappointed with jingle bells ending up at number 41 though.
December 31, 20222 yr This album getting 3 weeks in the top 10 without much in the way of streaming support is really impressive especially as its first week sales weren't anything too crazy. Mildly a shame about the Amazon thing just missing the top 40 but also that would have felt like a pretty meaningless way for him to achieve a second top 40 hit anyway. Like with Lizzo going top 10 - sure it technically goes down in her discog as a third top 10 hit, but it really doesn't feel like it belongs in the same category as the other two.
December 31, 20222 yr Whoever is in charge of BBC music must like Sam Ryder’s music because at the end of the last 3 Masterchef Finals they’ve used his music and for the Christmas Special they used More

Had more support from them than any ‘the voice’ act ever got.
December 31, 20222 yr It's all because of ESC promotion of course Edited December 31, 20222 yr by Sour Candy
December 31, 20222 yr It's all because of ESC promotion of course Although this is the first time the BBC have continued to support their Eurovision artist after the show for a very long time. Usually they’re swiftly forgotten about and never mentioned again until an inevitable ‘Eurovision disasters’ roundup. Sam I hope will get a fourth week in the top ten with his NYE show promotion. Either way, three weeks in the top ten is brilliant.
January 1, 20232 yr Well I think that show is guaranteeing another sale from me so it’s definitely done its job!
