It’s not ludicrous. Tension had 1 week in T40 and that was only because BMG released the physical release in the first week. It’s not really done any better than say something or magic. Tension is not a credible Kylie song and not a reflection of far better content on the album.

That is so wrong, it'd have been about 5 places lower without the physicals. Comparing the chart runs you can very easily see it's had a bigger impact than 'Say Something' and 'Magic'.

Depends how you define "credible" I suppose.

Newbie question - are these amazing or bad numbers? I'm not looking for a "Taylor does 45M streams of her songs" kind of responses because in 2023, Kylie isn't Taylor. For an artist like Kylie who began in the 80s, what numbers would make you guys go wow

its quite poor to be honest.

Padam makes the streams look better than they are

One More Time is a BOP. Can we have a remix and sample with Daft Punk

Or just sample the songs daft punk sampled!

Hi my huns

In the age of low physicals and streaming is king, it is about the lomg game with albums these days.

You can see that by how many new albums released this year that have hit silver, not a huge amount!

The album is doing fine, it is just 3 weeks into a campaign with another 2 or 3 singles to come and a potential tour to help boost streaming.

Just enjoy the music huns, Kylie has been in the music business for 35 years and still getting number 1 albums, top 10 and top 20 singles. How many other artists can say the same? Enjoy the nusic my huns and lets give the album chance to breathe.

This era has produced a silver single and album already

its quite poor to be honest.

Thanks for the response. But in your and other Kylie fans' eyes, what is a practical impressive #? we're surely not talking taylor swift or Ed sheeran numbers.

#36 on the UK album chart, #26 on the Australian chart. On to single #3
I suspect it will fall out of the 75 next week...but return right after Audience With. I don't see the 3rd single having a big impact and Kylie herself doesn't seem to bothered as she's busy with Vegas.
Oh actually i forgot its National album day tomorrow so it may well get pushed down a lot further..... lets see, BMG still capable of surprising us

That’s the frustrating bit she done so much UK promo for Golden and Disco and now she’s had a hit and could really benefit from promo she’s back in the US :drama:

I know that’s where the money is and she rightly should be concentrating on making it an epic show but on the flip side it’s so disappointing it’s happened now.

It’s amazing that Ed Sheeran’s 2nd week sales were only 44 more than Kylie’s!

A couple of other facts: excluding hits collections, new releases, and pre-2022 releases, ‘Tension’ would be at number 8 in the chart. It is still top 10 on sales, physicals and vinyls.

So in answer to a recent question, I consider Kylie’s sales and streaming figures to be a success. I don’t feel any other solo artist in the pre-2000 category can compare (P!nk is from 2000). Many artists with high streaming figures have also had massive success in the US - or alternatively are young UK rap and dance artists. And this year only groups, not solo artists from older eras have had similar success to Kylie: Gorillaz, Blur, Foo Fighters and NG’s High Flying Birds.

61,591 in total so far!

:cheer:

i mean she was only 2349 copies off staying top 10.

bonkers really.

It’s mad how close album sales are - you can see why artists really push signings, launch shows etc., - literally a few hundred sales can make the difference between 10 or 23!

I don’t remember there being loads of promo for disco. It was released during lockdown when stores were closed.
