I’m curious about whether the Brits sticker is just to catch attention online, or if there actually now is stock with that sticker on it! I didn’t check when I was at HMV the other day unfortunately.

I think if Tension had been 4.99 and 6.99 for the CD week of Brits, download 4.99 all week etc, cassettes 4.99 then it would have charted.

However if they have a re-release they probably want to sell that to casuals too.

I see Kylie & Joe Corry coming in mid to late April and the album re-release on preorder for a June release

HMV sale has started in-store today and is online from Wednesday I think, hopefully ‘Tension’ is part of the reduction - I can see from their social post that Take Thats new album is £3.99 (!) on CD, we need the same kind of price cut for Kylie.
Hopefully gives Take That a nice sales lift and also that kylie is on the same offer.

The offer has updated - no Kylie :drama:

Amazon

Deluxe 11.86

Standard 5.86

Pink vinyl £19.40

To be fair if a re-release is coming on pre order In next few weeks they will want to sell that at a premium etc rather than discount the older version

To be fair, I think it would make good business sense to try and get rid of any excess stock they have left to the casuals if a re-release is coming. The new version would primarily be aimed at fans + collectors in physical form.

If I hadn’t bought the Spotify vinyl and signed black vinyl I would have bought the pink at this price or HMV green option.

I do think they should have made one of these exclusives double vinyl with the bonus tracks too just like they did with the Disco glow in the dark and Spotify special. They should publish how exclusive they are in terms of numbers….collectors would be more incentivised to buy them.

I’m sure they made a profit from all the physicals they’ve sold so they missed a trick not just knocking all the physicals down to these prices during the week of the Brits.

Additionally the cassette bundle needs to be reduced to £15 or something even lower because no one is interested otherwise. Easy chart sales.

^^ I never understand BMG holding on to stock for years and years!

Cassettes are a redundant format and something only for collectors - they held onto the Golden, SBIT and now Tension cassettes, they still have the Disco boxsets for £75.

Surely it makes better business sense to reduce and sell rather than hold onto stock in a warehouse for 4+ years.

I don't actually think they have much stock left?

All those vinyl colours have sold out on her website. I think are running down the stock ready for re release

Going in for a deep dive in Tension and rate - after hammering PP and the album when it was released I gave it a rest, now looking forward to revisiting it after a break.
