I don't know why people aren't listening to the ne marshmello X Khalid track in the UK. It has cracked the us, canadian, french & Australian top 100s it is top 20 in canada! Also i bet steve will decrease tomorrow, Because he just dropped an album.

I'd say ArrDee is doing what Aitch did - Aitch had a very successful first year or so - big EP with a load of big songs and then features like Strike a Pose. Then post Rain he struggled to get a proper big hit for about 2 years until War and then Baby blew up.

Interesting that Arrdee is suddenly struggling, it could of course easily recover and be a decent sized hit - even pushing the 59p iTunes downloads on his socials hasn’t given it much of a boost on their either.

I get the comparison - Khalid's popularity seemed to almost evaporate out of nowhere, ArrDee's definitely noticing a significant lack of interest with this new one (especially considering I've seen it being hyped by him for weeks, and I don't even follow him :lol:), but I suppose it remains to be seen if he's really doing a Khalid or if he can pick it up (I definitely expect he will).

Even then Mimi’s still been quite a bit more successful than ArrDee. ‘Goodbye’ did flop but I’m pretty confident she’s not “over” yet.

 

Neither is ArrDee really, UK rapper’s chart hits seem to fluctuate a lot.

ArrDee definitely does seem like the type that will have hits or not depending on the song rather than having much of a consistent fanbase, as is the case with a lot of UK rappers indeed - having said that I did think this one looked like it was shaping up to be a hit but apparently not.

 

(also by what metric has Mimi been more successful than ArrDee let alone by 'quite a bit'? ArrDee had a much more successful album - granted Mimi's was only an EP but still - and has had more hit singles than her, I suppose arguably 'House On Fire' was a bigger hit than any of ArrDee's credited hits but it is dwarved by 'Body' which ArrDee was largely responsible for getting as big as it did)

 

Would love if the Dave remix for 'Last Last' (assuming that it is a real thing, I don't think it's explicitly confirmed yet, just a social media post hinting at it) could push the song to be the next #1, would be yet another #1 that I am a fan of in a row. Not going to hold my breath on that though.

All rappers rely too much on the sample they're using

no big known sample usually mens a flop, then they use a super famous sample and they got a hit like Aitch with the Ashanti one

or even Arrdee with Flowers

Whats worrisome for Arrdee is that he's using a super famous sample but still no one cares

 

 

Ardee definitely seems like he’s had his 5 minutes of fame.

 

Love Island showing that the right shows can have a big impact on songs! It’s a shame there isn’t more TV shows that artists can perform on which hits the right market.
