It’s brilliant! So fresh, energetic and electronic - Stuart Price did a good job on the production.

It was actually written July ‘20 just when their tour was cancelled after covid hit. It lead to Pressure Machine, as it’s the song that took Brandon back to his childhood in Nephi, Utah. However, as Pressure Machine evolved they really wanted to see it through as a tightly coherent concept album, so held boy back for the next record.

Thank you for the info! I love everything about this song, the vocals, production etc. Hope the video is as good as the song. Saw them live in London in June, they really are a class act.

It'll be hard to beat "Pressure Machine". A Great REcord!

Pressure Machine was incredible, just wish 'In the car outside' was released as a single!

I doubt it, it doesn’t sound as though it would fit PM at all.

Thats why it was left out, cos it didn't fit, but it was originally recorded and intended for the previous album

and then excluded cos it didn't fit... not sure how it sounded though, maybe they changed the production

what I find truly bizarre are the synths at the start of the 2nd verse, that's Erasure-A Little Respect!!!! :o

I do wonder if it is a sample that was requested, it is far too similar to not be. It elevates the song though!

I've listened to this several times this morning and am loving it.

Wasn't massively sure on the short lines in the verses at first, but it gets better on second and third listens.

I like the 80s style, the synths.

As one of my fave groups, I'm glad The Killers are back with a banger.

This new song sounds like there earlier works. I have to give it a second and third try to find out how it develop :)

But my first impression is

I was hoping for good things after seeing all the hype on here and this did not disappoint  the 'A Little Respect' comparison in the verses is bang on!
Capital and Heart played this today. Never thought I’d see the day! Really hope this can be something for them.
Only as part of the Big Top 40 though unfortunately!

Ah ok, I got prematurely excited!

I wonder do they get frustrated seeing mr brightside constantly getting great streams and not the new material. Im sure they are very happy mr brightside has grown into one of the best selling singles of all time and it brings sales to the direct hits album which is likely become a million seller late next year or early 2024. Maybe i have answered my own question there!!!

Really enjoy ‘Boy’ so far after a few spins, if released in 2007 it would be top 10!
