April 21Apr 21 This springboard comment is odd though - everyone knows who Perrie is and she has the makings to be the break out star of Little Mix. The idea they had to launch her on some bside Ed Sheeran track (though I do love Forget About Us) and not spend time working on her identity as an artist was her biggest fall down. Promo also seems to be an issue but I don't really have a solution for that - You Go Your Way seemed like such an obvious hit to me.
April 21Apr 21 Author Apparently a fan spoke to Perrie on DM's and she confirmed there was still a long wait until the next single...Kinda worried when she celebrated one year of FAU she made no references to more music.
May 19May 19 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Pop/Rock is HER LANE and that is where she should be venturing!Give us her version of ‘GUTS’ or ‘Breakaway’ or ‘HOLY FVCK’! She’d smash that lane I reckon.I think the rock version of ‘You Go Your Way’ is my favourite of her releases… and it wasn’t even the main version!
May 20May 20 A Kellyesque "Breakaway" or "All I've ever wanted" era would elevate my soul to a new dimension. Or a dark and moody "My December" era ❤️I still can't quite believe the fumble on her career. Can we just agree that because Ed Sheeran wrote it, it does not equal success 💃
May 20May 20 It is a real shame that there is no sign of life for her solo career atm. I really enjoyed FAO and YGYW so still hope she’ll be able to get an album out at some point. Leaning into the pop-rock sound would suit her so well.

May 20May 20 See I just think Perrie went with the sound she liked, she has said numerous times in interviews alot of this work was recorded at home working with producers etc and are songs she adored. I agree she should totally have gone on and produced a 'GUTS' style album but at the end of the day she's recorded music she likes. I can't really blame the record label because she's not an Indie artist and needs good streams / sales to carry on with the budget video's and to pay for the team around her so they obviously had to put a stop to the album for now.I think it was always going to be an uphill struggle because the pop industry is so fickle and even Little Mix started to lose the streaming power they once had, especially after Jesy left and things started winding down and she needed hard hitting music that would get people talking.I guess we'll have to wait and see the sales of Jade's debut to really get an idea because Jade is definitely getting way more attention than Perrie (And Leigh) so if she can't bring in good numbers I can't see Perrie/Leigh managing anywhere near the same level of sales. May 20May 20 It’s mad how many of us think the same thing (Breakaway as a template) yet Perrie and her team just don’t see it (or don’t want to do it).

Thursday at 15:075 days I’m actually excited to hear what she’s been working on. Fingers crossed she’s listened to everyone’s feedback.

Sweet Melody (million selling number 1 single), Heartbreak Anthem (close to a million, #3 single), Confetti (Platinum, #9 single), Kiss My Uh Oh (Platinum #10 single) all followed Jesy leaving the group. The only reason the Between Us singles flopped is because it was complete overkill in 2021 with Little Mix music and there was virtually no gaps between the singles from Heartbreak Anthem onwards. Even then they still managed to get No and Love (Sweet Love) into the top 40 and the album hasn't left the charts since...If anything late 2020 - 2021 and their final year releasing music was probably their second imperial phase after Glory Days!

If you look at the actual positions on Spotify they were struggling. Even Break Up song and Holiday struggled. Break up song was big and stable but it lingered around 30-40 on streaming for weeks. Streaming positions were definitely tailing off to how well they streamed before. Love Sweet Love and No did disastrously on Streaming, I wouldn’t say it was LM overkill at all more Jesy leaving shook things up a bit it’s a common theme when members leave. Remember Jesy’s vocals were still on the Confetti album and her departure wasn’t announced straight away.
9 hours ago9 hr SM aside they were already declining as m from BUS (which itself was a minor revival from TAU) HBA is. David Guetta track which they do vocals on. KMUO was an Anne marie track they featured onConfetti did have the first official track since Jesy left feel, potentially did better because of that BU did feel like it was a fast roll out, but pregnancies and tour probably didn't help its case
8 hours ago8 hr I genuinely thought they were on the way out around the point they released 'Holiday', I still can't believe they released that when they were sitting on 'Happiness' (and still didn't use that in the end either!)

And I don't think it's about Holiday being a single, ie Wasabi has done better than Think About Us (despite the feature). The fans seem to love Happiness (myself included), but I genuinely don't think Holiday is as bad as it's often made out to be... I mean, Breakup Song (lead single of the era), is only about 7 million streams ahead of Holiday on Spotify.
3 hours ago3 hr It wasn't Jesy's departure; it's the fickle pop industry. It is an uphill task to keep having hits back-to-back for 10 years or more, especially as a manufactured group - even if the songs are bangers. The industry gets tired and moves on to the next "big thing". Only few artistes maintain long-lived chart success.
