*.* I'll give the full album a go at some point too. Their energy was fantastic!

 

 

Definitely do - really enjoying the album, it’s quite unique.

 

I gave them ZERO interest before and they were not on my radar at all - will definitely be on the lookout for them going forward.

‘Cleopatra’ did well in my PC in the springtime but I didn’t like the next single and lost interest in the album. I might need a second spin of it to be sure my opinion!

I haven't really got into their music as much as I want to yet but 'K.M.B.' is a tune at least, easily my favourite of the singles I've heard (and their collab with Bring Me The Horizon, which was what I first knew them for, is great as well). May need to revisit a couple of their other singles.

 

Their album has been sitting pretty at #2 in Metacritic's top rated albums of 2022 behind ROSALÍA's 'MOTOMAMI'! One of only 4 albums with a score above 90 (ROSALÍA has 94, Nova Twins and Black Country, New Road both have 92 and Beyoncé has 91).

717 sales for Little Simz and missing a return to the Top 100… being held on a Tuesday went against it, will be interesting to see if it makes further gains this week.

Finally caught up on the whole televised show while stuck at home ill and I really enjoyed the back-to-back of Jessie Buckley & Bernard Butler followed by Gwenno too. It's the latter song vs. Adwaith's 'Sudd' for my favourite Welsh-language piece of music at the moment.

 

Little Simz a class act as ever of course. I think she's the only one on the list I've seen live before (as support for Gorillaz back in 2017!)

 

A handful of them didn't do a lot for me, surprisingly including Yard Act when usually I'm quite into post-punk music (I'll pretend that we live in an alternate universe where the representation was instead a performance of 'The Place Where He Inserted the Blade' by Black Country, New Road, I'm sure that would've been everything x)
