September 18, 20222 yr Spankie is SUCH a good winner, such a unique presence which I feel is hard to do now when there's SO many seasons of Drag Race. Very very few queens have the natural charisma and aura that she has, just so effortlessly hilarious in everything she does in a way that draws you into everything she does! Why did they feel the need to use half of Kylie's discography this season though like there isn't other Australian singers
September 18, 20222 yr i spent the whole season convinced hannah would win, then the final episode really felt like they were gearing up to crown kween kong. honestly would have been happy with any of the three, but am soooo ecstatic for spankie
September 18, 20222 yr Honestly... I called Spankie winning from the minute RuPaul "randomly" picked her out to slap her in the first episode. So, 10 minutes in? It's become a lot easier to work out the winners these days because Ru just loves them from Episode 1 and enjoys everything they do, i.e. Lawrence, Krystal, Willow... Spankie. I'm VERY happy though. In this day and age of Drag Race, to see someone "unpolished" win actually feels like a relief to me. Charisma and the ability to entertain should always be the number one factor of drag, as much as I love the runways and think they're essential to Drag Race.
September 18, 20222 yr Very very happy for Spankie! What a star and a winner we’ve not seen before! I really thought it would be Hannah to have a safe strong winner after season 1 but pleasantly surprised it steered in a different direction. Gem of a person and you can tell her fellow competitors were so happy for her too. A good season overall, still some work to catch up to UK/Canada in terms of queens who finished lower but the top three were great!
September 18, 20222 yr Elektra should have won S1 and I maintain that, Bionica for Season 3 plz x I'm VERY happy though. In this day and age of Drag Race, to see someone "unpolished" win actually feels like a relief to me. Charisma and the ability to entertain should always be the number one factor of drag, as much as I love the runways and think they're essential to Drag Race. Yeah I agree, I think it's really important that we have a winner like Spankie, a perfect example of drag just being fun and joyful, at its core. You can have the most high fashion looks or polished makeup, but it doesn't mean much without that charisma and spark and unique flair. Spankie almost feels like... drag before Drag Race? I wouldn't go as far as Jasmine Masters "RuPaul's Drag Race f***ed up drag" but it's really refreshing to see a queen win who puts that charisma and spark at the forefront of their drag, because drag at the end of the day should be fun, entertaining and joyous and everything Spankie does is so joyous. I feel like she has a really warm/relatable/familiar type of "local" drag mixed with a huge star personality and it's such a winning combination that we haven't really seen on the show!
