July 31, 20222 yr Couldn’t see this live sadly (barely a mention of it here in Ireland :kink:), but wonderful news! :cheer:
July 31, 20222 yr Oops I didn't tune in for any of the previous matches in this tournament (was only vaguely following the previous England results) but we did put this final on - fantastic achievement, well done Lionesses *.* Looking back at the history of the Women's Euros, the German domination is quite unbelievable, winning 8 of the first 11 (!) :o
July 31, 20222 yr After reading a bit about Sarina Wiegman I found out that not only did she previously win this competition with Netherlands in 2017 but she also was runner up with them at the 2019 Women's World Cup. England have played 20 matches with her in charge and haven't lost, she's arguably the best manager in women's football at the moment with the stats that she has and she appears to almost have the Midas touch. That is very encouraging for the future of the England women's team and they will probably have the best chance they've ever had of winning a women's World Cup next year with her in charge.
August 1, 20222 yr Sports Personality Of The Year awards must be decided then! Unless the England Men's team can replicate this towards the end of the year at the World Cup. I thought this too but then remembered the World Cup Final would surely be after the usual slot SPOTY takes place (first or second Sunday of December I think). They'll probably postpone it this year though for obvious reasons... Those Germans look like they are sore losers, lol when they have won this tournament eight times previously  The team has but not the individual players! Anyway, massive congrats to the Lionesses, that's an amazing outcome :cheer: an inspiration to the nation! Edited August 1, 20222 yr by Dobbo.
