Fresh from his 4th placed finish in BJSC with the brilliant lead single Bicstan (which now has a video), Glasgow producer Hudson Mohawke's new album is out today. It's so good, packed full of great soul and pop samples, it's a wonderfully inventive and melodic electronic album.

 

My highlights other than Bicstan are Intentions, Is It Supposed ( :heart: ), Rain Shadow, 3 Sheets To The Wind and Tincture. Anyone who liked Bicstan should definitely have a listen to this, although this is a little less crazy and frantic than that track on the whole.

I keep meaning to bump this (thanks Addy for reminding me in BJSC), it's a seriously good album (I bought it on CD I loved it so much), and video, very much worth a listen/watch for any fans of electronic music.

I've not listened to it in full yet but I'm loving the singles, and am especially enjoying “Is It Supposed” which closed out his Friday set on 6Music a few weeks ago.

I'll be listening to this soonish but have already heard bits of all the songs (I assume) from the 'Cry Sugar Megamix' that was dropped alongside 'Bicstan' and it sounded like there's some other great stuff on there so looking forward to it!

Loving the James Ferraro vibes on Nork 69.

This album is really all over the place - there were a couple of songs that weren't really hitting for me at all ('KPIPE' in particular was a bit of an earsore oops!) but I did like more of it than not. I thought 'Dance Forever' was a great single as well and from the album tracks my immediate fave is definitely 'Rain Shadow', I think I might even like that more than 'Bicstan' :wub: Mostly agreeing with the highlights named in Rich's OP actually, though I'd throw 'Come A Little Closer' in the mix as well! (edit: and 'Behold' too)

I watched the music video for 'Bicstan' after my last post and I have to say... I don't know wtf I watched but it feels on brand for Hudson. :lol:

 

I had 'Is It Supposed' stuck in my head earlier today, it's not quite up there with my absolute faves (settled on my top 3 album tracks being 'Rain Shadow', 'Come A Little Closer' and 'Behold') but can definitely see why he'd pick that one to push a bit.
