Lyrically it is so empowering and perfectly sets up her most stripped back album, explaining that no matter how flawed she is or how "simple" and refined she may appear, she still has a strong, undefeatable heart! A beautiful song and the perfect album opener :heart:
August 18, 20222 yr Both highlights on the album for different reasons but the winner for me is Diamond Heart, that "come on baby do you have a girlfriend" gets me every time. Should've been the lead.

August 18, 20222 yr 'Angel Down' is absolutely beautiful and underrated (I hadn't really liked many Gaga ballads before that point), but 'Diamond Heart' just slaps.
August 18, 20222 yr Author Tbh credit where it's due, Angel Down is a very powerful album closer. It leaves a lot to think about given its intense subject matter. Also a brilliant way to close an album centred around one of Gaga's angels being "down" and deceased D:
