  • He certainly does deserve a lot of credit but to see him lift the trophy in a parade would be very John Terry Champions League final 2012 🤣

Yeh they were massivrly up for it and thoroughly deserved to win. If anyone other than Liverpool I’m glad a team like Newcastle won it as it’s been so long!

  • Would have rathered Saudicastle don't win.. but we were awful. I've seen us lose finals before and it's part of football, but that was terrible. Newcastle fully deserved to win. Been coming, Slot has

Trent confirmed he’s off and got outplayed by Chelsea. A bad few days for LFC

I mean the result at Stamford Bridge means absolutely nothing. Not one Liverpool fan cares really, we’ve won the league and seems Slot is going to use the last few games to test the fringe players out ahead of a big summer.

Obviously disappointed by the Trent news but it’s been common knowledge for months and pretty clear him and his camp had their heads lured by Real years ago. Players move on. I do worry about how we match the creative output, but that’s a problem we should address in the summer. He’s been a great player for us and wish him the best, although not sure he will settle in Madrid myself. Can only think of Mascherano and Suarez in recent times who’ve left Liverpool and gone on to enjoy themselves! The rumours are Alonso will play him in midfield, which I can’t see working.

A moment of silence and some candles to be lit at this devastating news

I’d be more worried if Anthony and Mount have done enough to secure them new contracts from that joke of a board at OT 😀

They’re overloaded in midfield as it is so I doubt it

That was quite a toxic reception for Trent today.

Not really a fan of the booing as it affected the team (and Trent). But yeah people are pissed. It's not even so much that he's leaving, it's the fact him and his team fully engineered this move with Real in their ear for years. Never nice, much rather people just did the Connor Bradley chant. By all accounts within the stadium it became fan vs fan a little bit too.

You'd think they would be happy having just won the league. Southampton's fans seem to be happier at reaching 12 points in the league table.

Why is Trent going to Real Madrid any different that when Michael Owen went at the prime of his life? Surely he was a local lad too and cherished by the Liverpool fans?

It’s different because Owen was from Chester and he also left with a fee. He’s also our vice captain. The reason Owen really gets a bad reception now is he joined Man Utd. Otherwise he’d be treated the same way as Suarez, Torres, Coutinho etc.

Trent and his team deliberately ran his contract down. This move has been in the works since 2021. That’s why people are annoyed. I don’t agree with the booing but his team have engineered this move along with Madrid over a number of years.

I think a factor with Owen too was that we weren’t that great then and didn’t look like we would win the league for a fair while whereas now we are one of the best teams in the premier league and Europe.

Don’t like the booing but can understand it. People have a right to give their opinion at the end of the day. But even if he did engineer the move that’s not against the law either. Just disappointing more than anything.

Liverpool are ready to trigger the release clause of Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong as they close in on their first summer signing.

The 24-year-old, who can play across the right-hand side, is wanted by fellow Dutchman Arne Slot for next season's campaign and talks towards a deal have progressed in recent days.

Frimpong's release clause is understood to be in the region of 35m euros (£29.5m), with Liverpool expected to meet that figure.

I thought we had no chance, but looks like we're in pole position to sign Florian Wirtz. Don't know if I'm more excited about the fact we're signing a superb player or actually spending money 😂

Ha same here although I always think when we spend big they normally do poorly. I’d imagine Nunez or/and Diaz will be away now.

I think the only big money signing we've made that hasn't worked out really has been Nunez. A shame, but he's never kicked on.

Nunez, Elliott, Kelleher, Chiesa are all certanties to leave imo.
